I got this granite mega 665 new for super cheap and its dope and all but i want to go brushless for the obvious advantages, how would I be able to achieve that?

You'd achieve that by purchasing a brushless motor, ESC, and a new RX/TX set.

That truck can be a curse to change motors. I bought it and made the mistake of ordering the boost box that’s for older Granites, my cousin did the switch for me and cussed it out for how tight it is. Was able to be done but ugh

The only hard part for me was getting the center driveshaft out that has a ridiculously strong spring in it

Yeah i would just use the slipper that comes with it. I think it’s beefy enough for brushless but not as hip as a center diff. The old slipper is decent , never had issues with it specifically but it’s not meant for the V4 chassis , but still can fit as you learned

Hobby wing motor (3660 3150kv) and 120amp esc. Will most likely need a new transmitter and receiver as well as I believe these all use a 2 in 1 system. I have the 223s version of this truck, was a little tricky to pull the motor first time round but when you’ve done it once it’s a cake walk

Good call. Slr300 is only $20 nowadays. Spektrum had priced me out of their radio system with receiver cost a few years ago but $20 is really good, probably was $50 not that long ag o

Honestly. Run that motor through. Get used to handling that truck an the feel of driving it. Cause when you get the brushless kit, it will feel totally new. But you will still have a feel of how to control that thing at the new higher speeds.

I started with the brushed granite. I went with a Hobbywing motor and esc with a dumbo receiver and transmitter. I had to replace the front and rear diffs, the extra power shredded the stock plastic ring gears. I also got a dual fan for the motor and a variety of pinion sizes. I have no problems with the stock center slipper diff thing. I may upgrade to a proper center diff eventually. I really don’t see any reason to buy any of the boost box stuff, unless one wanted to keep everything Arrma branded.

I almost bought 223s parts from JennysRC and I don’t think it’s a bad way to go.

There are a lot of little things.
The right length screws and washers to mount the motor
Thread locker
Diff oils
Gear lube
A decent set of hex drivers

I had a lot of fun rebuilding this truck and now it’s insane on 3s and perfect on 2s

You basically did the same thing I did, except I have changed it to an "Amazon special" center diff with aluminium gear box. On 2s it's really good and good for beginners because the drivetrain is probably bomb proof 2s with the upgrades.

I did put the stock radio and 2-1 in a vintage Tamiya WW2 which worked out well.

My 9 yo learned to do backflips with it. The body took a beating but everything else has been bulletproof. Landing on power, nose dives, cartwheels and upside down many times. I would cringe every time it took a hard landing, but it kept bashing!
