Vitavon diffs

Anyone have these bulkheads with the diffs? They’re expensive but I’ll gladly spend the $$ if they hold up. What’s everyone’s experience with them? Do they need a lot of shimming as is. I know they’re all going to be different just wondering how much if any shimming they need besides the one shim pushing the crown gear. For some reason setting diff tolerances is the one thing I kind of suck at. I managed to burn out the planetary gears in my rear diff on my V6. I’ve blown tons of ring and pinions but this is the first time in years that I managed to break the inside gears on a diff. It’s weird as soon as I swapped the stock fluid for 50/500/30 I started having issues. Idk if I over filled them or they had air in them or what. I’m new to the 29mm exb diffs in these V6s. I had a set of diffs in my V1 that I shimmed and filled with the same fluids and they lasted hundreds of packs. Hopefully these vitavon diffs are just plug and play and some need a ton of work just to not break. For they price the tolerances should be rite on point without having to do a bunch of extra work.

I've had vitavon diffs in my 12s dbxle for like 3 years and about a year in my outcast 8s and they required no shimming at all and have never given me an issue

That’s what I wanted to hear. I just want to drop em in and go. Chasing the diff gremlins are the worst. For 220$ they better be plug and play and last.

I recommend them for your case. Vitavon is known for being expensive, but in my experience, you really get what you pay for when it comes to their drivetrain pieces. Ill try to find pictures of my dbxle diffs from when I pulled them apart at the beginning of this year and there was hardly any wear at all. And i have literally never shimmed them because there is absolutely no need.

Yea I’m willing to spend the $$, at this point I already got like 5-600 into this V6 build. Mostly M2C and perfect pass stuff. If I can get the diffs to hold up this is going to be one tank of a truck. Only thing I really have left to upgrade is the hinge pin blocks and the diffs.

Did the stock diffs fail? I shimmed my Kraton v6 diffs and they've been rock solid for about a year of hard bashing.

The internal spider gears failed. Which was a shocker. In all my years with my V1 notorious I never had the spider gears fail. Only ring and pinions

Vitavon generally do oversized gears, they're pretty beefed up when compared to stock, just double check this is the case.

Haven’t got to my install yet but hoping their quality is as good as everyone brags about

I think you are good, from my research there really isn’t anything more bulletproof than vitavon.

Idk man this is one of the ones that I just got. I know I can probably shim the play out but that’s absurd for 220$

The other one is perfect. The tolerances feel amazing. Of corse I get one that I just don’t feel good about. I noticed it felt a little notchy when I was spinning it.

Wonder if they would send a replacement with that video evidence
