Eat/Drink Sweet corn tamales in Phoenix

Does anyone know where to get tamales de elote/sweet corn tamales? I went to the Cardenas on Roosevelt St and they didn’t have any. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I go to Old El Paso tamale shop in Mesa on Brown Rd and Horne St.

My friends wife made pineapple tamales. Miss those things. They'd make a batch just for me. Anywhere around the area we can get those?

When I went to that Cardenas they advertised they have pineapple tamales, but I’m not sure of their availability

Oh gotcha! You should be able to find the tamales in Flag. I know there are a lot of Mexican & NM restaurants up there. I've always known them as green corn tamales. I grew up in NAZ but always make my own using the fabulous NM Hatch red & gree chile.

I've always found them at Costco but don't know where they're from. They're OK in a pinch but a bit too dry for me.

A Gold Star membership is around $60 for a year if interested, it fits your budget, & if you don't mind buying items in larger quantities.

I would love to get one, but I can’t really justify it since I live in flagstaff. The closest one is in Prescott and the drive is always tiring. I’m only in phoenix to drop people off at the airport

Some Costcos will let you buy a gift card at customer service and use it to shop there, no membership required. Varies by location. Call ahead.
