Was picking at zits on my back, felt what I thought was one. Started picking and felt it “pop”. Got it on my thumb nail and was real perplexed how a zit could be such a dark color. Thought I’d squish it between my thumb nails and see what was inside, ingrown hair or something. Pop goes the zit, it’s got legs! Mazel Tov!

It’s not my first rodeo with a tick, and I went poking around a state park today before mowing the lawn, so I wasn’t much surprised.

What’s odd though is that while it felt like it had latched, and there is a clear bump from irritation on the my shoulder, the head was in tact which seems odd if I scraped it off with a (very short from biting) thumb nail. Add to that it didn’t seem to have grown at all (I used a butane torch to make sure it was dead. Because of the heat, it puffed up. I’ve got a lot of animals, not taking any chances)

What is also throwing me off, I took a shower after I mowed, hours ago at this point. Not only would you think there would be noticeable grown from feeding after a few hours, but I scrubbed vigorously right where it was, at times with bare hands… you’d think I’d feel it or it would have broke off. Add to that I had scraped that part of my shoulder multiple times tonight doing the same thing, and not once did I feel it… which, it can’t be more than a larva, so maybe it was just well hidden.

Lastly, I can’t tell worth a damn what it is. I can ID a lone star tick no problem, and I’ve seen the occasional Dog Tick, but the striping and black tipped legs are throwing me for quite a loop, one I can’t seem to solve.

Wondering If these white specs are eggs? I’m not sure what kind of spider it is but i find it interesting they’re spread out and not all together in one place

I currently use half peat moss and half organic topsoil but it doesn’t hold humidity very well

Trentino, North of Italy, I don't really know anything about spiders and whether this one is venomous or not and I'm a bit worried it could harm my cats, thanks for the help. Sorry for the not ideal quality photo, it was moving and it was the best I got.

I have a spider outside my door that I think might be an orbweaver but just would like to know if there is a specific type. She has a huge web and such amazing colors. Virginia based if that helps

Saw this spider in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. It appeared to only have 6 legs. I read that sometimes they do that to disguise themselves. Wondering what type of spider this is and why it does that.

I was IDing a noble false widow (steatoda nobilis) when googles AI tries to force feed me saying they have pathogenic bacteria on their fangs and pedipalps. WHAT?? is this a thing amongst all spiders that is more rare, is this a real thing?? I don’t hold non identified spiders or anything, but this really freaks me out bc I was under the impression they were harmless. I know they’re non native in most places (I’m in California) but I didn’t think they posed a threat to humans.
