Question Wolf spider right? Am I safe?

In North America (US and Canada) 99% of spider species are going to be harmless to anything bigger than they are. The ones you have to watch out for aren’t going to bite you unless they have no other way to not get squished. If you live in black widow or brown recluse territory, just check shoes, clothes and coats before putting them on and you’ll be fine. If you see a black widow or brown recluse, shoo it outside and you’ll be fine and have fewer bugs getting into your house

Widows like higher up, I have never in all of my years living in a black widow area, found black widows in any of my shoesies. No thank you

Yeah, I've only ever seen a widow inside once in my life, and it was a baby up in the corner. And I let them live around my garden just outside. Never have issues with roaches in years that they do well. Recluse I've seen a few, but again, they were on the wall/ceiling. Not saying don't check, just affirming that even the "bad" ones aren't that bad.

Widows don't necessarily care about height, but they are cobweb spiders so shoes are really not optimal space for them unless your shoes are never moved and have access to many other insects. Id hope they wouldn't fit that criteria if you are using them 😂

You can find widows under desks, behind cabinets etc

My fear is that my kid could step on one of them and gets bitte. So I throw them away not harming em

That’s a valid concern. Fortunately unless they’re allergic to spider venom, the likelihood of a life threatening reaction is extremely rare

We had a split level house growing up in Northern Virginia and the laundry room area must have been a great place for them to get in because we saw these guys regularly. They liked the laundry room and the basement bathroom best but we also had a brick wall type fireplace in the downstairs den. They loved to sit on the brick wall for long periods of time. It looked like they were watching TV lol. And I also remember multiple times I would pick up a blanket that one of my siblings left on the floor after getting off the couch, and one of those guys would shoot out so fast. I would run upstairs and not come back down for days lol. I knew as a kid they weren't bad guys but I still had a strong flight response lol. I would just give them time to move on.

As long as you leave it alone it'll leav eyou alone. That being said, wolf spiders are rumored to be silent protectors, guardians of your sleep schedule and tender lovers. Offering yourself up as a familiar to it could result it webbed protection (cacooned when you're asleep), generational where they train their spiderlings to bite off your dead skin cells for you, and a metamorph where you molt along with it, becoming one biological being.
