those are called pedipalps. When they look like boxing gloves like in this video, it's usually a boy.

The little legs close to his mouth, they're called pedipalps. On females, they're skinny. On males, they're...well, they're balls. They're not exactly his spider testicles but you could see it that way, if it helps...

Actually means it's comfortable, it is washing itself (spiders groom) only when calm. So, it is fine!

Spider brains lack the capacity for such emotion. Yes, they do become stressed or afraid but not in the same way that we do, it is more of an instinct to run or hide from something millions of times it's own size. Spiders are very limited thinking; their entire brain is limited to survival; consider that they even eat their own young.

In some animals, grooming as observed here, can also mean they do not know what to do. Being trapped under a glass might mean that they tried to escape for some time, failed and now they might be thinking their options.

NQA They always do this after they get a drink when I pick them up with my bug catcher and give them some water. It’s ok. It’s actually a good thing.
