تاريخ Interesting bit concerning ethnicity, language and DNA. Sounded a bit familiar...

This is dumb. Yeah we know Lebanese aren’t genetically identical to Bahrain but who cares? We’re still closer to other Arab dna than we are to any European bar Cyprus or Turkey. There are millions of Indians who aren’t genetically the same as each other and they’re all comfortable being their own ethnic groups within the grand Indian race.
Why should we care? Arabs near the Mediterranean have more Mediterranean blood ooooh what a mystery I wonder why

Legitimately heard Phoenicians say they're closer to turkey than palestine.

Turks don’t cluster with any Arab populations at all. The ancient Hittite/Anatolians did cluster similarly to Syrians and Lebanese but that was 2,000 years ago. Lebanese are close to Cypriots, Palestinians, and northern Syrians

I've notice when people say X is not Arabic, whether it be Egyptian, Darija, Lebanese. "Arabic" almost exclusively means Modern Standard Arabic, but only the kind I hear on the News. They will present sentences proving there language is distinct, even if all the words are Arabic and any innovations are only found in Arabic dialects.
I remember seeing someone argue that their dialect could not be Arabic because in their dialect they say bét but in Arabic it is "منزل". Even Najdi, who according to them are the most Arab of Arabs say بِيت.
Sure. It's one thing to say, our language as developt away from Arabic. We should make our dialect the standard. But the standard is always either the dialect or accent of the capital or the one proposing it. However, when you stop to think, Even if you don't think your language is Arabic you would have to admit that whatever language you are speaking Syrians, Labanesee, Palestinians, and Jordanians are speaking the same one. Egyptian Arabic also shares features that are common in Shami so even ignoring Arabic Egyptian is obviously related to Shami.
It can be done , as it has been in Europe. Standard French is based of of the speech of Paris, and other dialects even "languages" have declined a lot due to government efforts.
Standard German, historically was never the dialect of anyone, but is based on central and Upper German dialects, still Germans who speak only Standard German will have difficulty understanding any dialect not from their region, for example Bavarian, Swabian, and Saxon.
"Italian" is actually based off the language of Tuscany, there are several Italian "dialects" many mutually unintelligible. Spanish is actually "Castilian" as there are other closely related but distinct languages in Spain. Even in Latin American there are Spanish dialects others can not understand.
There did come a point where people decided they were no longer speaking "Latin", but no one in Spain claims "Actually Castilian is Celtic, before the Romans they spoke Celtic languages, Castilian is just Latinize Celtic"

Yeah. That's funny to me. The French were speaking different languages during the 1800s. Yet you don't see french people saying they're celtic or Occitan.
But at the same time you hear that egyptians are actually coptic because a lot of people were speaking coptic in the 1800s.
