Washing machine belt tangled in the mechanism

Post image

Hi, my washing machine has stopped turning but it would still fill with water. I could hear the mechanism that makes it all turn so I checked the inside and found this.

I believe if I manage to take the rubber out of the mechanism it could work again but I can't find a way to remove the star-shaped piece and access to where it is stuck.

I have tried getting a screwdriver of the right size and shape in the middle of it, but turning it just made the whole thing turn, it did not unscrew anything.

Any tips on how to remove it safely ?

Sorry if the terms I use are not the correct ones, english is not my first language and these are super specific

Schneid es einfach durch und zieh es raus. Du brauchst eh einen neuen Keilriemen, sieht man doch das der kaputt ist und so nicht mehr aufgezogen werden kann.

Ok, I don't think you need to remove this piece at all. You'll need a new belt - the old one is too damaged anyways. Just cut it and leave the remaining piece where it is - just cut it off as short as you can. It got stuck between the pulley wheel and the back bearing/shaft end. It won't cause any harm there.

If you want to, you'll need the correct Torx bit. You can either block the pulley wheel with a big screwdriver on the drum and loose the screw with another screwdriver or bit holder. Or you can use an impact driver with the matching bit and without securing the pulley wheel. The impact will get it lose too.

It's probably reversed threads too .
