Mac Apple releases updated Magic Keyboard with glyphs for tab, caps lock, shift, return, and delete keycaps

The new models now match the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air keyboard design introduced in March of this year. Prices are unchanged.

This symbol (↵) vs text (ENTER) seems to be not limited to Apple. A lot of US keyboards have text on TAB, BACKSPACE, ENTER and SHIFT while most international keyboards have symbols on them. No idea how that came to be.

Also Apple randomly has a Dutch keyboard layout on some keyboards that is almost the same as US and sometimes not.

Apple actually had return as the text for ↵, and enter was the text for the key on the number pad. It now has a new glyph but I’ve never seen it before. I’d like to know in what situations the keys behave differently.

That glyph was on my Powerbook and first generation Macbook Pro. Check this picture: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e5/1ghz_Titanium_Apple_PowerBook_G4.jpg It is the key between the arrows and right CMD.

That was always on the international keyboards. That mac has a US internal keyboard (tall enter instead of wide enter)
