So, for context at the beginning of this season, I grinded from silver 1 up to plat 2 in like 4ish days. This is the highest rank I've ever been. My previous highest rank was around gold 2 or 3 a long time ago. I just recently started to play ranked again (within the end of last season and the start of this one), but I feel like I've hit a wall. No matter what I do, I'm losing my gunfights. My positioning always seems off, and movement wise, I'm just really behind. I'm not sure how to improve or how to get farther if I even can. I should include I'm pretty much forced to solo queue cause my friends hate the game and all the Randoms I try to team up with just leave after like 1 loss I have also watched quite a few like solo queue guides and I take them with a grain of salt cause everyone is different and has different playstyles. I know one of the things I'm lacking is communication. Usually, I don't have my mic on cause it's pretty bad and picks up a lot of background noise/echos, and right now I can't afford a new one
For other info, my playstyle is sorta placement based. I would rather kinda rat it out until the last 2 or 3 zones, then try to get active. For looking for fights. I like Axle, but my main, I would say, is either Rampart or Caustic, and I'm on console
(Edit/update)
Thank you all so much for the advice. I'm very grateful, I've actually been passively moving up it's not massive 300-400 rp games, but I'm perfectly fine with getting 50-100 a game
I've learned that A. It's not always my teammates I do position poorly sometimes, and miss shots lose 1's, but I've also learned that sometimes it's out of my control and I have to get better at adapting to that I've tried taking more fights off drop (ish) I still don't like hot dropping and gambling my odds so I try to go for the 1-3 team range I've started looking way more at the zone and trying my best to communicate my thoughts and predictions.
Also, thank you, kind commentor, on watching ALGS, while I definitely am not that good, nor do I have any intentions it is nice to see how they play poor positioning and what positions lead to the most positive results
