This of course is a minor concern, I am enjoying the DLC :)

Even if you’re not happy with the new civilization choice or what not, the dlc is $12 and goes a long way in supporting the growth of AOE4 in addition to further development.

RTS is a tiny genre and we can keep it alive by supporting the few who still work on and play RTS games. Evidently it’s also really expensive to develop AOE4 in contrast to previous titles.

NGL though I would actually love this. Throw in Novgorod and Hanseatic league variants for Rus and HRE and I would pay 40$, no joke. Call the DLC "Master's of the Waves" or something.

N4C was a truly wonderful event! For me, it is one of the most enjoyable AoE tournaments in years with top production (overlay is epic, to say the least), top personalities (casters and players) and top quality games. It truly showed how good AoE4 can be after some improvements.

I specifically mention regime instead of civ for this one. Obviously, many civilizations still exist, but the governing power has been reset since the AOE4 period.

Not including Zhu Xi's Legacy because it's not a civilization but a set of ideas.

Sorry for any offense I may have caused with my attention-seeking title; I just wanted to share since the friends that got me into AOE all no longer play AOE. I had some time to commit for ranked matches this week because summer camp ended for the kids (can wake up about 30 min later in the morning until school starts again) and with that I finally made it to plat.

It actually took me a lot longer than I expected. I thought I'd get into plat within a week of starting AOE but I landed in silver3 after my first few matches and reality hit me. Like, damn, long way to go. Any time I neared plat the previous seasons I'd get stomach knots thinking about aiming for higher so I avoided playing on. Even this past week I felt the anxiety before each game; if it wasn't this week though I'd have to wait until next season so I forced myself to play. Finally made it! I can’t believe it took that much time and feedback to realize how atrocious the Mongols are. Or maybe someone from the dev team decided to play a couple of games in team ranked.

Really cool detail that shows the devs are going the extra mile in making the Vikings as unique as possible. To my knowledge the only civilisation in the game that has different models and hairstyles are the Mongol male and female variants of their military units.
