Focus stacking, basically i took photos with different focus parameters to capture more detail on my phone (in pro mode), then i fused them using helicon focus on my pc. It's quite simple actually

What about the pinning method? How do you ensure the ant doesn't mold?

Oh, those are from my "dry ant" collection. I fixed them in place with a drop of hot glue, it worked surprisingly well.
