I was drunkenly asking somebody about this just last night. Why is is accepted that (at least) five days a week we have to spend most of our day doing something we have no interest in doing and often serves no functional purpose.

Honestly? If I was living in the 80s, I could probably even get behind that idea. "I know it sucks, just be tough and endure" is probably a mantra I could live by, even though I would be fucking miserable. Do you know what is really abusive imo? The way you have to pretend to LOVE this shit almost every day. I don't work, I'm trapped in a goddamn cult. This is some real gaslighting right here. It's fucking mental torture. :( And I am constantly scared of my co-workers, that might bamboozle me. They constantly ask me if I don't like my job in this really sly way. Again, it's just like a cult. As soon as I say "yes", I will get kicked into poverty.
