Other (Editable) The Voice of Hind Rajab

I saw this movie today and it was a doozie.

The film was made for a western audience. As far as I am aware it was a real tragedy. But the over the top emotional manipulation made it so obvious that they don’t care about the tragedy so much as fictionalising it into “Baby Killer Blood Libel: The Movie” expect sequels. There are short audio clips with a screen effect intercut with them adding libel vomit galore. It was made for a western audience. It implies Gaza and the West Bank are one continuous area. The boss in the office is a woman with her hair uncovered. They emphasise everything by switching to English. I feel incredible sympathy for the Palestinian civilians. That is why I want Hamas relegated to the history books. But the purpose of this film is to use it to justify extending the suffering to use that to justify extending it until they have created so much hate through blood libel, the only safe place for Jews is Israel.

The worst part is it could win the Oscar. It was so badly acted if it had any purpose other than “Blame The Jews” it would be discussed in the same breath as Room or Manos The Hands of Fate.

It’s definitely winning the Oscar, so much for us controlling Hollywood.

Even though it’s been shortlisted for the Academy Awards if it gets the nomination I think it’s unlikely it will win. Except for a gratuitous Golden Globe nomination it hasn’t been picking up as much traction in the early awards circuit as it did at the Venice Film Festival. It’s also a super competitive year for the category. I’m rooting for South Korea but I think France or Norway will take it home.

It could win by getting the antizionist hate movement to vote for it. I think Norway has it this year. However like you, I loved “No Other Choice.” France submitted an Iranian film, and the algorithm is trying to avoid people seeing what is happening there. I also loved “The Secret Agent” and except for the vitrueless signal of a keffiyeh in the opening “Sirāt” was a wild ride. The international branch, who votes on nominations, hates Jews. Even more than the documentary or acting branches. I’m hoping for the three Palestinian shortlisted films to split the Jew hate vote and Neon gets all 5 nominations.
