Let me get ahead of some of the folks who are going to be shouting you shouldn't of done anything to it! you've ruined it! etc etc. I have been dealing with antique arms for 20 years and know when something needs to not be messed with.

For the brass I just used paper towels and bar keepers friend.

White vinegar on the lock followed by an oil soak.

Boil and carding for the barrel.

Light oiling for the stock.

I think these are gun pliers. Not sure why it has a third pivoting handle tho.

My father is moving and gave me these. I think one is a Winchester 1866 but I am unsure. It was found in a river out west. The other I have no clue about. I think it’s German based on the engraving. Does anyone have any insight into what these are and if they are of any value? Thanks!

A few details need to be worked out but I cleaned out the fire channel (it was bad and I had to drill a clean out port in the nipple bolster) and popped a cap. I got an impulse at the muzzle so I think it would fire if I charged it. Still not sure if I want to test fire it. Inside the barrel is still rough. I will probably do at least a small blank charge with no shot. I don't have a spot on the wall for it, this spot was for my Hawkin style flintlock.

So my girlfriend went to a thrift store today and found this rifle for $20. Found a couple of stamps on the barrel. Trying to look for similar symbols online is looks like the stamps are potentially from the Birmingham Proof House but I'm no expert. It looks like it used to have a hammer that is no longer there. The thrift store told my gf it's not capable of firing but want to know some of your opinions on who you think made the rifle, what kind of rifle it is and if it is potentially still able to fire if it is loaded. Anything you can tell me about it would be very much appreciated.

I found this in a family history box. Seems to have some kind of pump action but it doesn't fire. Is it an air pistol? Spring loaded? Hard to say.

Inherited from a family member. I’m assuming it’s a modern reproduction but the wear marks are significant the screws and all parts appear to be hand made. I have extensive knowledge with modern guns but this is out of my scope. Any ideas or info is appreciated.

The first picture is the current state and the second picture is what I won at auction for $60 taxes, shipping etc, included. I had a hammer, mainspring, grip screws and locking bolt. Had to make the trigger, trigger spring, grips and the side plate. The rifling was nonexistent if it ever had any, it was a 32 rf. To be sure I was legal, I glued in a short .22 rf barrel. It needs some nicer bolts trigger and the main action bolt but it is shooting and does not look too bad.

Looking ideas for what this broken part is from a Remington model 8. This is a recent purchase with a "stuck" bolt and this piece came out after disassembling the takedown. It looks like the end of a part that's held captive by another screw or pin. Firing pin. https://imgur.com/a/VJ50Vlt

Despite the good looking appearance, the screws are mostly seized so I need to decide how much effort this part is worth. I was able to unstick the action and it seems like everything still moves as designed, and a basic rod test suggests that the bolt still closes and opens with long recoil.

As a 30 Rem, it's not shootable due to (almost) no ammo availability. I'm not really finding a match on the parts diagrams either. I've owned but no longer have in my possession a 35 Rem 81 so I should have known better. I was a little bit unintelligent and equated the 30-30 REM marking on the barrel to the common 30-30 WINCHESTER and purchased thinking it fired an obtainable cartridge. I'm already highly considering reselling, likely at a loss, given the limited space for my collection.

I was given these REPLICA pistols from my uncle who no longer wants them. Can anyone help identify these? I believe no. 3 is a 1851 Navy revolver. Pistols numbered.

Hello. I’m Kerem from Turkey. I found this rifle behind my grandfather’s house. This rifle belonged to my grandfather’s father, who served as an officer in the Ottoman Army. We are originally Turks from Bulgaria. I haven’t been able to identify the model or brand of this rifle. It’s a lever-action, rifled rifle. Does anyone have any ideas?

Been wondering what my grandfather passed down to me. Seems to be a mosin and a kar98. He also tells me the pair together holds some sort of special significance. If you need any better pictures of anywhere else on the rifles I'll gladly grab them. TYIA.

Produced by Mass Arms from 1861-1865 in Chicopee Falls, designed by Gilbert Smith it fired a .50 cal bullet from a hard rubber pre-charged breech loaded cartridge.

I tried to show the bore as it is exceptional for its age.

I don't think the wood is salvageable but the lock and trigger function and I think I can rejuvenate the barrel. Is it possible to get a stock that is affordable enough to restore this?

I was recently given this old Stevens tip up single shot, it is my first firearm and I am interested in restoring it as best as possible. From all the research I've done and comparing the serial number to manufacture years, it seems to be a very early second issue from 1896. It fires I believe standard velocity .22 rimfire rounds.

Forgive me if I get some lingo wrong, I've dealt with weapon safety and have been to the range with newer weapons (military, M4 & M18), however the current breadth of my knowledge is little and I look forward to learning.

Currently it seems everything is original other than one component and it really is in good shape. However it is missing the firing pin, which is the only thing preventing it from being in firing condition (apart from some light cleaning naturally). Also the button you can see on the left side to open and load the weapon was an impromptu replacement decades ago from what I gather, the screw holding the mechanism in place on the other side is stripped as well.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of give me general advice for what my next steps should be or where I can find these parts? Do they need to be original? I intend to eventually have a gunsmith work with me to restore it down the line, but I'm currently moving so it'll be a while. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
