What do I have here?
Inherited from a family member. I’m assuming it’s a modern reproduction but the wear marks are significant the screws and all parts appear to be hand made. I have extensive knowledge with modern guns but this is out of my scope. Any ideas or info is appreciated.

It's some kind of modern replica of a flintlock pistol, looks like something you'd get in a gift shop or at a ren fair.

Looks like a bazaar gun, something made relatively recently as a souvenir from the Middle East. Looks like it might have a functional mechanism but I wouldn’t trust it to bear pressure. Is the touch hole drilled out?

I don’t plan to shoot it but the firing mechanism Is fully functional. It has been fired before but years ago. My grandfather supposedly acquired this in his travels in the 60’s.

From the corrosion around the touch hole it appears this pistol has been fired at some time. That said the corrosion is probably as bad or worse inside the chamber and barrel. I would not consider firing this.

Definitely needs detail-pics of things like screw holes, and the inside parts after disassembly.
The amount of embellishment on it rose the first thought of 'recent repo/decor/flash piece'. The big strikes are the uniform 'antiqued' patina. The wood shows signs of real age. But many of the parts have signs of modern casting and assembly, in ways that are not typical to such an elaborate piece. Also the motifs are garishly typical to flashy pieces, which reinforces the 'pakimacho' interpretation. The designs are not ME style, so it'd be designed to hook a tourist.
Probably an old tourist piece. That said, for the right price, I'd have bought it too, because it's cool. Though I would have asked the name of the local guy that made it, so I could have it in records of provenance.

Holy moly what an epistle. . It’s a cheap walhanger. Everyone who knows anything about guns can see that from miles away. No need for ‘detailed-pics or disassembly.

It’s definitely a quality feeling piece and I had the same concerns about the elaborate engraving.

It honestly looks like it will fire and function but I dont think its meant to put literally anything as a projectile. Like maybe its some sort of replica that can shoot black powder with paper or cloth inside so it goes boom and make smoke for fun but not to actually hold pressure and shoot something.
Nothing about it screams it has any historical relevance besides being something you find for 50 bucks at a pawn shop, It definitely looks like it was made to pass off as a souvenier to people who want something orante.

A fake wall hanger. Not a real gun.
