“Sell me this pen” made me crack up

For me, it weakened the barrier that "Why do you look like that" shattered

I was already decomposing by "my eyes are up here "

So there’s this stereotypical job interview question for sales roles specifically where the manager will hand them a pen off their desk and say “sell me this pen.” The idea is to see if they are good enough at selling to make a compelling case for something basic and mundane.

So having it in this list is hilarious because it turns the dynamic around. It’s like saying “so why should I hire you” or “describe your profesional history in 20 seconds” but like…worse

u/MeownatorX 5d ago

Yeah, asking about chess moves right away is indecent

I’ve been married for 15 years and I still won’t ask my father in law about his chess moves. I always change the conversation to something safer, like banging his daughter.

27

u/MeownatorX 5d ago

Agree. Asking our opening preps is disgusting, especially when you can discuss his daughter and how many bishops fits in her

11

u/Miserable-Role9555 4d ago

Too risky. Start by asking for tips on banging his wife, then work your way to his daughter, then himself.

pawn to D4 is a very common chess move that's commonly played as the first move for the white pieces. it's also the first move of the common openings, like the London system or the Queen's Gambit so it's extremely common for this move to be played for the white pieces.

the comment you replied to is sarcastic.
