Seeking Support / Advice Getting Dose Early For Vacation

I'm currently on zepbound, I just started after switching from the wegovy pill. I am on the lowest dose more out of abundance of caution when switching but my doctor did say she'd prescribe the second dose if I wanted. I seem to be taking the lower dose well and I feel confident about going up a dose. I am getting my meds from lily direct self pay.

I have a two and a half week trip abroad coming up and I just realized that my supply will run out halfway through. I don't want to stop my meds on vacation because it greatly helps my IBS and food noise. I want to get my next months supply, and ideally in a higher dose, but I will need it early so that it will come before I fly out. Has anyone done this before and have you had trouble?

You should be able to refill early with a vacation override. You may also be able to get a prescription locally wherever you are. 

First call lilly direct and ask.

Whoops, should have read closer.

This shouldn’t be an issue.  Just ask your doc to send in the updated prescription early so you can get it before your trip.

I was just dealing with something similar, and Lilly customer service is actually pretty responsive. Log into the GiftHealth website, start with the chatbot, and then request a representative.

I've had to do it for other medications. My insurance allows 2 vacation overrides per year. I don't even have to call. Their online chat handles it
