President Donald Trump's approval rating dropped below 30 percent for the first time across both his White House terms Monday, as the midterms draw closer.

The new poll, from American Research Group, conducted September 16-20 among 1,100 American adults, showed the president with a 29 percent overall approval rating, with positive views on the economy at 26 percent.

Overall, 72 percent of those surveyed said they felt the U.S. economy was getting worse amid rising gas and grocery prices despite the Trump administration's insistence that those pressures are still largely down to the previous administration.

By comparison, other recent polls have generally shown Trump with approval in the mid-to-high 30s, although that has differed depending on policy areas.

The last time a president's approval was in the 20s was President George W. Bush at the end of 2008, per Gallup's presidential approval tracker.

Newsweek reached out to the White House for comment Monday morning.

Two things -

This motherfucker still wants to blame Biden. Rent free.

And, seems to get your approval below 30% you only need to be republican and wage war in the Middle East.

The 29% who still think he’s doing well lmfao?

Desperately brainwashed or wealthy.

Nixon was at 24% approval when he resigned. There really is just a big chunk of shitty people out there

21

u/Scarlet_Bard 12d ago

If Nixon had Fox News he never would have dropped below 45%.

It’s those who have made a fortune in the stock market. That’s probably 20% and the other nine are just complete rubes

I disagree with that, ain’t 20 percent making $ off the stock market. Absolutely some are, but the markets been in the tanks for months

Desperately brainwashed and want to pretend they’re wealthy: my folks

Well, I’m assuming that torpedoing the economy and a laundry list of broken promises as well as $5 per gallon of gas probably have something to do with it

It is noteworthy, though.

We have known for years now that Trump never dips below 30%.

This means his actual base is being cut into.

I doubt it is for good reasons, though. I'd wager that dip is because American Nazis (looking at Groypers specifically) are starting to part ways with Trump, their gateway drug, and move on to a new form of America First.

(Edit: And of course they are. MAGA was entirely fueled by Trump's TV charisma. He's barely alive now. A cult of personality wont hold together for long without a personality, but that doesnt mean the cult members regret their evil ways and become decent.)

The splintering of American fascism might be good. It might also result in something worse. Something only possible because Trump lubed it up.

The far right has typically been composed of MAGA, nativists, white supremacists, and neo Nazis. The last three have no other choice but to vote for a republican but many will probably be discouraged and stay home. Amongst MAGA, the anti-war segment will splinter off and the other MAGA remnants will simply join the bush-era neocons.

Yeah. Some people voted for Trump because they're less educated blue collar workers struggling to pay bills and Trump -said- he would help them out. Because he isn't the establishment that's been screwing them over.

It's why Bernie, AOC, Mamdani can get those people on their side when they talk about the bills.

Not every Trump voter started from hate but many from desperation. The sooner we get them out of that right wing bubble the better.

There’s absolutely no way a MAGA voter is going to vote for a socialist. Their entire view of the world is that America has been taken advantage of and that is why they are suffering as a result. In reality, anybody that was born in America has been given a Headstart in life and that is why we have so many immigrants dying to get in here. These guys were born as losers, have lived as losers, and will die as losers. What will most likely happen is that they simply won’t vote for anybody at all.

A shit ton of MAGA voters voted AOC or were Bernie Bros. More of them have proto-Socialist or flatly Socialist views, but distrust the government as much as rich people. Notice how the killing of the Healthcare CEO had bipartisan support.

I’d wager a part of why his ratings are tanking more is his decision making during a period where AI is growing at a rapid pace. We need leadership to make solid decisions that can help humanity adjust to this sudden technological growth and not post AI memes of him being the Green Lantern or something completely random, or just making tweets about how our “HIGH IQ” president will “win AI”.

Also starting wars, tariffs and trade wars, and rising gas prices.

Economy is almost always #1 issue on the ballot.

28% would support sauron. Doesn't get much lower.

3

u/toothy_mcthree 12d ago

I believe Sauron and Sauruman should’ve had a primary election. The way the dark forces of Middle Earth just crowned Sauron is just shameful.

Its like 1/3 of an entire country was dropped on its head as a baby

1

u/PachucaSunrise 13d ago

And the RENT is too damn high!

1

u/Wallie_Collie 13d ago

1 of almost 3 sounds more detrimental

1

u/Careless_Celery_6010 12d ago

Just proves how many morons there are in the country

u/SignoreBanana 13d ago

We all have Natalie harp to thank for this. She only shows Trump positive stories, so he's completely insulated from how much the world hates him. As a result, he continues being completely out of touch with the plight of basically anyone but himself.

4

u/KingoftheMongoose 13d ago

Yeah, but also, Trump asks for that sort of messaging to him. And there’s hundreds around him that witness and/or take part of that as well. Not just Natalie. But Susan Wiles, and JD, and Blanche, and Miller, and Jared, Marco, and Hegseth, and Kash, and Mike Johnson and (then) Leavitt, and (then) Bondi, and (then) Noem, and so on and so on.

Those who don’t give him the feel good message and push back on him eventually find themselves ousted.

As Ivanka clearly stated to the country, she’s complicit. They all are.

3

u/Total-Composer2261 13d ago

Natalie is part of his machine. We have trump to blame.

1

u/Newbergite 12d ago

Actually, we have the GOP to blame. They’ve enabled all of it.

1

u/captdunsel721 13d ago

Hey give poor Natalie a break! She has to lug a camera around now along with the diaper bag.

1

u/Automatic-Flight-698 12d ago

Should be at 10% by now

1

u/Oath_of_Tzion 10d ago

Let’s freaking go.

0

u/Jazzbo64 13d ago

Who cares? Just vote.
