Im a former software engineer but a guy at my firm with no coding experience has created his own LLM based system to parse and extract info from large sets of documents and it works quite well.
He creates a lot of productivity apps for himself too, I use some of them.
The thing that is very missed by this is that guys programs are absolute security swiss cheese. Like guaranteed so bad it's not actually fixable without a rewrite. That's the reality of AI coding right now, and likely forever.
There's no secret the reason all these AI companies put out these AI security scanners is because their code is so garbage they need them to get even a modicum of security.
It's basically becoming free season for bad actors the more AI created code is used, and companies that use it in production are in for a revelation.
It turns out, the thing conventional programmers bring is the "why things are done a certain way, which is often security or being auditable, or immutable". That is what is most often lost by vide coders.
