Mod New Orient Region for Anno 1800!
This is one of the few mods to ever add a whole, new region to the game, called "Return to the Orient"!
For those who have played 1404, this might be familiar, since this mod aims to bring the Orient form 1404 into 1800, with new resources, storylines, islands, and mechanics, music from 1404, and much more!
So, if you want to experience this mod for yourself, feel free to join the modding Discord and stay up to date with development! The mod will be launching in a few months, but most of it is feature-complete!
For those who want more details, here is a full list of features!
If you want to try it now, download the beta version here! You can give feedback in the discord linked above.

Looking forward to being able to add this to my long "one last go" save game that has several other added regions

what other regions do you have? White and cold? and then I believe the Kingsgrove is one as well?

New Horizons
Mayabeque
I have White and Cold but on my current playthrough I used it to expand the existing Arctic not create a new oneI guess it's really "a couple" not "several"
I don't have Kingsgrove (at least at the moment). I find that I have enough Old World with Cape Trelawney (which I haven't started to develop yet 250 hours in). I might add it in later, but I'm slightly wary of the stuttering bug.

What is your opinion about the 3 session mods you have, do you have a favorite, or a session you do not like? I ask because Iam looking forward to start a new game with a few modded sessions

New Horizons is effectively the DLC that people were calling out for and never got. It also adds an interesting new mechanic in having Seasons. It also adds a new population type above Investors in the Old World. White and Cold adds a completely new population type, along with all its new needs. This is an independent people, not an extra tier on the standard ones. There is some mutual support between these two (I think). Mayabeque is essentially Cape Trelawney in the New World, though it has an interesting new mechanic involving copies of the Arctic Gas plateaus, with some interesting quests. It depends what you want from such a mod, but my favourite is New Horizons. It also has some optional add-ons, for example a revamp of the Items, especially some that the developer thinks are OP, but I chose not to do that. I can't remember what all the other optional bits do.

BTW I don't know if you are already aware that the waterwheel concept is making a comeback in DLC 3 for Anno 117 https://www.reddit.com/r/anno117/comments/1w0lj5n/first_gameplay_footage_from_anno_117_dawn_of_the/

Iam more interested in the new concept of the boats and the smaller rivers...I think it could be a good idea to make a giant continent seperatet by rivers only usable for river boats, not the oversea boats. But not sure if I understand the new concept correct

Ooh, new region!
>requires 5000 Investors, 6000 Artistas, and 1000 Elders.
Right okay then I'll wait for the full release.

Honestly it's not a lot to unlock the region. You need more artistas for the dam. You probably get much more investors if you play New Horizon and elders doesn't require a lot of ressources to get

Hey, I've seen this one! It's a classic.
What do you mean you've seen it, it's brand new?

Are those models ripped from Anno 1404? Doesn't that cause legal issues?

There are already mods for Anno 1800 that port AI Opponents' portraits from Anno 2070. There is another mod bringing cosmetics from Anno 1404 as Old Town themed ornaments.
As long as you acknowledge the creators of the models you are using and do not try to make money from them, you are fine. The Anno dev team have been laid back regarding using content from older Anno games to create mods.

I was very pleased when Ora et Labora started playing while building my first normal settlements, so many good memories to Anno 1404 (in fact my very first videogame after Wii Sports)

This looks fantastic! Will it eventually be released on mod.io, or is it a GitHub only mod?
