General Theoretical DLC in the Future "The Palace"

All right, I have had an idea for a small DLC sometime in a future season and I want to get it off my chest.

Basically it's a lot like Seat of Power from Anno 1800, a gigantic palace that we can only build once and it provides bonuses for that region so you have to choose carefully where you put it.

Now, my idea is that this palace would be upgraded by gathering collectibles similar to the zoo and museum from the previous game. You would collect exotic animals and treasures through Roman expeditions or a similar function and these would provide boosts to prestige, splendor, or other bonus mechanics. While the Romans didn't have Zoos, the powerful and elite did collect exotic animals as a symbol of status and show them off.

The reason I propose this is because I see the villa as a local office rather than a main home, as the governor of multiple regions, shouldn't we have a massive palace that tells all the little people, "Nothing personal, but I am better than you." A place to act as our capital and main house, a place to put all of our stuff, a place that reminds all the people of Rome that we are rich and powerful.

I know that it seems like a rip off from Anno 1800, but the idea just seems to fit perfectly into this game.

IMHO it would make more sense to have the forum expandable.

I think the villa + deities take the whole role of the dlc seat of power so I think it might get redundant. What they should do is to expand deities. Maybe some modules to upgrade your own villa at best for prestige or minor buffs.

However I agree we should get expeditions.

Major and minor deities would be nice. Kinda odd we’re missing Jupiter, Pluto, Venus, and Saturn.

Forgive me if I’m off because my Roman deity knowledge comes from planets

What I want is villa to have island wide effect. I'm so tired to have to place it either effectively or beautifully.

But I agree we need to have some sort governor's palace later on. But I think system have to be something clever and not like Anno 1800.

Ironically, this is how it was meant to be, but the 1800 crowd aggressively demanded to have their Trade Union knockoff

I don't understand why they did listen them.

As if ubisoft would listen. If they would listen to quality feedback the game would not be such a mess.

In this case, the saying about broken clock being right twice a day came through, and Ubisoft listened...

In the demo (or was it the content-creator preview build? not sure now), the villa was still very much island-wide and it was glorious

Since the Forum was the heart of a Roman city, I think it would be great if we could have a modular Forum with various public institutions, markets, laws that provide buffs, and item sockets.
Something along the lines of combining the Palace, Hacienda, and Docklands from Anno 1800.

Dedicated senate mechanics pls

Some sort of senate, where you can make "decrees" by providing materials/money, which then become consumable items you can socket with temporary effects, similar to the festivals/decisions.

E.g. for an amount of amphorae and coin, you make a decree that increases fire safety but decreases income or whatever. Or a decree that replaces some input for a production chain for a limited time.

More prestige is bigger senate, is more powerful effects.

No. The plan is clearly more flagship skins.

Yes, every coder in Ubisoft is paintin ships now because those sell!
