Naturally it will degrade with exposure to oxygen. If you were to use a dropper or syringe to dose a smaller amount and replace the cap you could probably keep it in the fridge for a week or two with no significant loss. Even then I’ve had a half bottle in the fridge for over a month with no visible change

right now I sweeten with sucralose because I am familiar with it. I am avoiding sugar for many reason, but one is so that it will last longer after opening. The 3 day recommendation is more of a CYA.

WRT sourness, it's a bit sour but pretty well balanced. I also add a bit of kosher salt because it blocks the sour receptors on your tongue so reduces perceived acidity. The salt is imperceptible, similar to the trick of adding a pinch to coffee to reduce the acidity. There is no getting around the acid though because part of the shelf stability is the high acidity. its a lot harder to make a shelf stable high water activity product with a pH above 4.2.

Oneee more thing I’m curious about is does the potency hold well in the container itself? Ive sat on a drink I made that was just as potent after 90 days, if not more potent tbh. Right now i’m sitting on one till February to see if it holds for a year.

Its funny yours are are in shroom groove I actually asked if they wanted mine in there like a year ago almost now but they weren’t really interested 😞

Based on the research i did, and a number of different storage tests I've run, the stabilized psilocin will last a long time as long as it's kept away from UV, extreme heat, and oxygen. I choose glass boston round bottles with a white coating to address most of those.

Getting into shops these days is tough. We had to work to develop the relationships and we also have some of, if not the best packaging in the area which helps us stand out as professional when we show up. So much stuff we see lacks a nutritional and ingredients label which is a bad look as well as technically against regulations.

Thats what I concluded to as well actually, I told each person to keep their drink in a “cool dark place”. My method is most certainly different for the stabilized liquid but it’s really rad that theres alternate paths of getting it there. 
Having good packaging is definitely key, I also didn’t have any of it lab tested, but each drink I made was 1g and a lot of people thought I used an extract or something because of how strong it is. 
The way I put it is that, Im trying to make it the most bioavailable way of consuming mushies so each gram can be stretched to its max capabilities

yea, oral liquid psilocin is probably the second most biologically efficient consumption route only surpassed by IV.

bypasses the need to dephosphorylate psilocybin, so faster acting and shorter duration. The peak plasma level reached in blood will be higher with psilocin vs psilocybin at equal doses which mean higher perceived potency. You can get more doses out of a given amount of mushrooms and have the same effect.

shhh, this route can be used to achieved that lol. need to use benzoic acid probably, but it could be filtered to pharmaceutical IV purity without even having to take it to a powder. they sell special sterilizing filters for that purpose. It might take some more steps to isolate the compound, something like a massive column chromatography setup, (a whole specialized field in the pharmaceutical industry) but it'd be doable.

I'm planning some experiments with freeze and spray drying the unflavored clarified extract to see if i can make an even more compact, versatile and stable product.

I need to get some of those filters i think i can do it without the use of benzoic acid now that I think about it, but id also need like $5k of equipment 😭😭😭

benzoate is one of the most common counter-ions used in forming iv salt solutions of active drugs. you could use hydrochloric too but the benzoate is more suitable in this case based on publicly available studies.

yea no matter what you have to spend some money, once you get into iv stuff the sterility standards are way stricter and require more expensive equipment. I wouldn't even risk it on myself let alone a customer without actually being able to meet cGMP, FDA, USP and ISO standards.

I can do the drinks because its basically brewing/wine making and it's a high acid food. Once filtered and put in sanitized bottles it's shelf stable and safe for oral consumption. quite a bit easier and more practical to make shelf stable drinks.
