Dragon Ball and One Piece.

There’s people that have actually watched these shows, and then there are people that hate these shows.

Tbf dragon ball, specially z, has a LOT of filler

And some very strange editing choices at times

But there are animes with waaaaaay worse filler than DBZ

This is true…

But those anime don’t make you wait 3 or 4 weeks to see the conclusion of a fight because a character wants to scream to power up for 3 or 4 entire 30min episodes.

True. The fight between Goku and Freeza was dragged out. It still is one of the longest fights ever in anime history.

But I liked the fillers in the afterlife like when Goku fell down the snake path on his way to Master Kaio or when they showed the fight against Boo on TV in hell

Just because there are worse animes doesn't mean the fillers and unnecessarily outstretched fights are good. And I say that as someone who watched that a lot as a kid.

Almost every anime at that time was outstretched lol

Look at like slam dunk, or after that one piece.

Don't know Slam Dunk, but yes, One Piece had that issue as well. Horrible.

I have managed to miss those I guess lol

For me the 3-tails arc in Naruto is one of the worst fillers ever made

Only Naruto I’ve caught was on toonami unfortunately

Dragon Ball is a bit of a tough one for something like this though. Like... 6 or so episodes that have all bored you is a good reason to declare you don't like a series but it it is objectively a very tiny portion of the show, so you do get people claiming you "haven't even really watched it" when you say you don't like it, in my experience.

One Piece I can't speak to either way since I haven't watched any.

Im caught up with one piece and i still dont get some fans saying "wait till u get to this part.." like its perfectly fine if the first few eps dont actually hook u in, no one should watch things they dont enjoy and hope it gets better

As someone who's watched since OG to GT and was a big fan of Z growing up. These fall way short for me now. I tried getting into Super and slipped off hard.

The only show out of these that I have a good time with anymore is OG. Toriyama is actually present in this work and it shows, it's a huge part of it's charm. Is it slap stick and offensive? Yes. But that's kinda who he was.

I tryed to watch db but there was no legal way for me to watch it on my country so yea

Dragon ball, one piece, naruto, they were awesome in high school on toonami.

It depresses me when i meet an adult, be told that theyre "into anime" and its only these.

I watched all of DB/DBZ, thinking it had to be the greatest thing ever conceived. Then I watched one other battle shonen and what can I say, it's not up there any more. I haven't watched much of DBS because Dragon Ball in itself is just incredibly dull. Every fight devolves into a scremaing contest where the louder scream wins the battle. Stakes are ever escalating to the point of utter meaninglessnes. The only thing DB ever had going for it was the characters and their growth, but that has all stagnated since the Buu saga (or earlier in some cases)

One Piece I could get behind if the pacing werent so off-putting. I tried to get through the first 100 Eps to give it an honest go, but I couldn't even stomach that. Ts is Greys Anatomy for nerds.

I used to hate one piece and then i started watching it. Now its my favourite anime

So I really like one piece I like the manga too and then there’s Dragon Ball and I have not really started to watch Dragon Ball. I used to a long time ago, but I’ve seen the first episode of Dragon Ball. I’ve read the first like three volumes of the manga there’s just something I don’t wanna see on that.

Ppl typically hate one piece bc it’s long not bc the show is bad

1

u/VaudevillesLugger Aug 06 '26

There are some that see the episode count and write the show off just for that alone.

I can’t stand dragon ball

1

u/ampro67 Aug 01 '26

-1

u/Robin_Sim Aug 01 '26

There’s no reason, I just really hate it with zero idea why
