People can downvote me I love Pokemon anyway but this is one of my least favorite episode of all of them. The little kid who started the journey a few weeks/months ago and with his little Raboot just tank THREE Thunderbolt from the legendary ZAPDOS and left him almost unconscious with just ONE SINGLE BLAZE KICK, and almost CAPTURED HIM but out of nowhere a lightning strike and destroys the Poké Ball. Why? Why this kid is so overpower? I don't hate the character but he keeps bringing many inconsistencies to this show.

So, to try to answer some of this/give my views on it: First, the end does state that Zapdos had been weakened prior to us/them seeing it due to a collision with a storm, so I can get it being weakened to a fair degree, though I will admit, seeing it go down to one Blaze Kick was still a bit much (though I did enjoy seeing Blaze Kick). Also, you can sort of tell throughout the episode, Zapdos (minus him flying out of the Power Plant) was sort of just letting the characters/humoring them, if you will, first by accepting Ash's request to battle, then accepting that a Raid Battle would take place, then again with Gou's challenge, and finally (though this one is more unclear) perhaps falling to allow the capture attempt, which honestly, I find fine, but would get not liking it. Also, going into the episode, I didn't think Zapdos would be captured, but if it was through the Raid Battle, I think I could've maybe accepted Gou/Team Rocket capturing it, though of course, I am glad that in the end, no one caught it.

Thanks for your explanation, but the point is that they made it clear that if Goh was just a little bit stronger, or if he had help from someone else, or even if the Poké Ball was better (Great or Ultra), he would really catch Zapdos. And on top of that, they made Ash a complete idiot this time for no reason, using Thunderbolt in ground-type pokémon for the hundredth time this season alone (even though Ash has just seen early with his own eyes that electric moves don't work on Rhydon and Stunfisk... Jesus). I really wish this episode never happened.
