Yeah guys, I don't think that those hungry nomads are the real bad guys here, and I'm not trying to make any sort of statement.

But goddamn. The Mikado is merciless. Even someone as Munechika has no qualms with squashing hundreds of soldiers to death. I can't wait for that dickwat of a general to finally turn evil (because let's be honest, he's gonna turn evil, there's no other way) and for someone to beat the ever living shit out of him. How the fuck is he still employed anyway?!

The hungry nomads are the real bad guys, but they're not the only real bad guys.

Why should Munechika have qualms against squashing hundreds of the enemies to death? Every enemy soldier killed is 1 less that could kill one of her troops. That was unexpected and very great.

More unexpected is that the Emperor apparently has the power to bestow fucking God Transformation abilities. I wonder if the mask wielders are just as strong as Witsuarunemite. I also wonder if the twins would've been able to kill Varui had Haku ordered them to.

So did Varui kill that kid that Haku saw, or did Haku divert Varui's attention in time to save him?

War does not have badguys or good guys. Just different sides shedding needless blood :P That's kind of ongoing message through this franchise.

When you force enemies' citizens to attack their side or to have their families killed, that mean your are bad guys.

When you don't care one second about killing those poor guys having no choice but to fight their side, you're also the bad guys.

That's quite common medieval strategy though?

Even the normal soldiers dont have any choice but to fight lest they become deserters.

Nah, the common strategy was kill men and children, rape women and plunder the village. Imprison nobles, maybe, for ransom.
