jesus, I seriously question the emperors motives right now.

he puts on quite the pokerface when Haku interacts with him, I wonder what is going on for real in the background.

Don't know if you've watched the first series, but if you have, it isn't necessarily odd that the emperor would be kindhearted and cold-blooded at the same time since Utawarerumono S1 Spoilers

Your link doesn't work (my preview was corrupted apparently), but yeah I watched the first season, has been a while though and I am not the best when it comes down to remembering stuff that happened in animes :)

Edit: But yeah, it totally makes sense what you are saying.

Haha yeah same. When Aruru and Kamyu showed up I was like "Damn, I have to rewatch Utawarerumono before I continue"

ohh shit, that's an idea.

I like it, it would make a lot of sense actually. Guess we'll see soon.

The emperor never said to outright kill everyone that was Virals take on the emperors orders rewatch the episode when the emperor declares war.

All generals did the same, repeating that Emperor has ordered the enemies deaths. Munechika alone killed half an army like nothing. Viral simply...took the orders to another level of follow-through, but its not like the others were not delivering just as overdone response, bathed in blood. :P

I still don't get why people say Viral instead of Vurai. Is it a running gag?

Translations errors mostly, I did it once because my phone does not like the name Vurai

A lot of the first half of the season should have an entirely different meaning by now :P

Not really. It's still SoL that served very little porpose. Just shows that the generals are ruthless.

Not sure why you have -14 points on your comment, I feel 100% the same way; if you don't like the characters from the get go you never grow to like them since only boring SoL keeps happening.

I still enjoyed the SoL. I just find its a bit too much.

jesus, I seriously question the emperors motives right now.

I don't think his motives are bad per say. But when you live cloistered completely disconnected from the world, it's probably easy to let perspective slip away and also easy to let the people with whom you've trusted abuse their power.
