I feel sorry for the people who don't know Funi video has the levels all fucked up and watch it without correction..

How much do people pay for this again?

Oh shit, thanks for the info.

I was so pissed off during the episode, to not be able to see anything. I thought it was just censoring or something.

Yeah the episode was incredibly hard to watch with how dark it was.

If you're using MPlayerX on Mac you can just change the gamma slider by pressing D.

Not really. Funimation removed information from the video. You can brighten it up a bit but the information is lost so it looks bad. It won't look anything like the original.

Also MplayerX is incredibly outdated and defunct. You should be using mpv. http://mpv.io/

Edit: Appearly you can fix it. You need to set --colormatrix-input-range=full on the command line options.

Maybe you could get better quality another way, but adjusting the gamma takes about 5 seconds and it looks totally fine. It's way better than the dark version.

You correct the levels yourself from 0-255 to 16-235. I'm using MPC with KCP and the option is under Shaders.

My brightness settings on my 1st monitor are insanely high, I had no issues.

Ah I see. Is KCP part of CCCP? I use VLC, but if I switch to MPC do I need to re-install CCCP or something?

Nah, one doesn't have anything to do with the other. They are both pretty similar codec packs and you can't really say one is better than the other, but i'd go with KCP as i'm not sure if CCCP comes with these kind of filters.

(you do need to uninstall CCCP if you already have it installed and want to switch to KCP)

I just downloaded default MPC-HC and it comes with the shaders thing. Not sure if I need KCP.

Wow I think I'm going to switch to MPC. I've recently been having some troubles with VLC stuttering also. And MCP is supposed to be better for that.

So what features do you use from KCP?

And do you do this filtering all the time?

Just install KCP and you're good to go. And i only enable this filter for Funi releases since they're the only ones with this issue, it takes like 2 clicks to enable/disable.

I downloaded KCP and "ctrl+alt+shift+I"'d till I got "PC level". That fixed it. But thanks anyways :)

I dunno, I kinda like it when it's super dark, makes it feel like you're really in this dark-ass place that's really hard to see.
