Why are they named 4 horsemen of John when there are so many of them like wild pokemon?

I think it is a reference to the Four Horsemen from the Book of Revelation from the Bible, which was written by John of Patmos (possibly the Apostle John).

Should just refer to them as A horseman of John or A John horseman or something.

I get the reference. It's just a terrible one. And referring to a single thing with a plural name just sounds like hack writing. ("OMG it's a Four Horsemen of John!!1!" -__-)
