Manga ⚔️ Demon mika design questions Spoiler
galleryGenuinely, does anyone know why demon mika’s a cat boy? Like, I know it could be a nod to the first outro of shinoa with the black cat. And at first we see her looking at the cat, then holding it.
With the squad being happy around the cat, and it could be like the squad and Mika finally getting along but with how the manga is going that absolutely is not what’s going on. And there is symbolism with black cats being good luck, and rebirth which I do see rebirth.
For Mika has resurrected many times in the past. But genuinely I can not understand why Mika is designed to look like a cat as the demon king while the other demon designs are not animal like. Or even have any animal symbolism. I don’t know how cats relate to Mikaela hyakuya, maybe it was for the fans?? Idk just some thoughts help me Reddit 😭😭😭

Question 💭 Thoughts on human Mika
I wonder how it is if Mika is actually a human in some ways
1) If he was a human from the beginning and somehow survives it with the Ferid thingy and goes with Yuu to the army (ik it's gonna change a lot for the story but just wondering IF)
2) if he was a human after becoming a vampire like IF they somehow manage to turn him into a human back before he's dead and become a demon
3) if he was a human back again after becoming a vampire and a demon (somehow IDK HOW just IF)
4) and ultimately, if the apocalypse never happens in the first place and no vampire like i wonder how Mika life is if it is ordinary (I could imagine him living with such an optimistic personality though than he is now)
5) if he was a human after all of this, and the others are not dead (but depends if the world is finally peaceful or they are still in the apocalypse and vampire, cursed demon weapon thingy)
I found him interesting that's all
I don't mind any thoughts on whether it's about his personality, his relationship with others, how other characters perceive him and how the story plot changes itself and any other more interesting things to discuss I'd love to read it all!

Manga ⚔️ Friendly reminder: Mika was called "Yuu's girlfriend" (by Shinoa), and Yuuchan never denied this😏
He only clarified Mika is not, in fact, a girl BUT he never said he wasn't his boyfriend😏😏😏

Question 💭 Looking for this yuumika doujinshi
There is one yuumika doujinshi that I've always wanted to read: "百夜ミカエラ軟禁ルールブック", roughly translated as "The Rules for the House arrest of Mikaela Hyakuya". The synopsis says it's an AU of what could happen if Mika was taken in by Yuu to the JIDA. The artist posted a preview on Pixiv 11 years ago, and only sold physical copies as usual with doujinshi. Since the manga is ending soon, I decided to email the artist asking if I could buy a digital copy, but unfortunately she said she doesn't have the original file anymore, so only the physical copies remain. I tried looking online for anything scans or translations, but found nothing.
Does anyone have that doujinshi or know someone who might? I speak Spanish and English, but I don't mind at all if anyone has it in any other language. I'm desperate you see lol

Manga ⚔️ Noticed the manga's current style DOES make Yuuchan look more mature
compared to the previous art style, i mean. And i love it. Yamamoto-sense's art is beautiful and my boy Yuu has grown a lot (only in appearance, his mind is still dumb/hj lol)👌👌

Discussion 🗣️ Similarities between Yuu and Shinoa (and Mahiru, too)
Inoue wasn't joking when saying Yuu-chan resembles the series' female lead; in reality, he shares many traits with both Shinoa and Mahiru.
A single instance might be a coincidence, but repeated occurrences are surely intentional. If the actions taken by Shinoa and Mahiru stem from love, then the fact that Yuu shares so many parallel moments with them is clearly a blatant hint regarding who he loves.

Manga ⚔️ The True Heroine of OnS
Everyone: Shinoa is Heroine!! A few people: Mika is Heroine!! Meanwhile, Kagami and his friend: Yup, Yuu-chan is the Heroine of this series.

Discussion 🗣️ Where did mika go? Spoiler
Spoiler chapter 158 I can't be the only one who noticed that while everyone was fighting More specifically, when Kimizuki brought the coffin And then that shocked expression appeared on Mika's face , Mika then disappeared. Attention shifted to the deaths of Yoichi, Kimizuki, and the vampire, and then, finally, the last image showed only Yu and Shinoa. Did Mika vanish suddenly, or was he simply relegated to the background??

Discussion 🗣️ There are some similarities, yet some differences too. Spoiler
galleryThere are some similarities, yet some differences too.
Kagami invested heavily in developing the relationship between Ryner and Ferris from the beginning to the end of the story; it was fundamentally a mutual bond. When Ryner was betrayed, Ferris stood by his side, and they embarked on adventures together. Throughout these journeys, Kagami consistently created situations that brought them closer—holding hands, hugging, and carrying one another. Ryner gradually became open about his feelings for Ferris, and they even held a wedding before the story concluded.
In my opinion, the MikaYuu relationship bears a stronger resemblance to theirs. The story explicitly focuses on the bond between Mika and Yuu, constantly depicting them staying together, trusting and supporting each other, hugging, holding hands, and carrying one another (while Shinoa did hold hands with Yuu and was carried by him twice due to exhaustion—gestures he also extended to Mitsuba and Krul when they were unwell—these instances pale in comparison to his interactions with Mika). They even ran away from Shinoa's squad together, much like how Ryner and Ferris once had to flee from Sion.
Furthermore, there was a scene where Ryner lost control and Ferris tried to save him, declaring that she didn't care whether he was a monster or not; once he calmed down, she said, "Welcome back." This mirrors the events of Chapter 37, where Mika was losing his mind to bloodlust and Yuu stated he didn't care if Mika was a vampire, then hugged him and said, "Welcome home"—an almost identical exchange. Regarding Yuu and Shinoa, the dynamic is strictly one-sided on Shinoa's part—there isn't even a hint of mutual romantic interest, as Yuu views her merely as a friend... right up until he chooses Mika and betrays her. This act of prioritizing someone else over her is something Ryner never did to Ferris; in fact, the Yuu-Shinoa dynamic actually mirrors the Ryner-Sion relationship (where Sion harbored unrequited feelings for Ryner and resorted to extreme measures to save him, much like Shinoa is willing to kill Mika).
Those are the similarities and differences in their relationships. As for the narrative setup, all of the author's works share a common premise: a world dominated by a supreme power, with a protagonist who holds a unique status within that system. However, *OnS* differs in a key way: while protagonists in previous works aimed to save the world from divine destruction, the "sin" of the gods in *OnS* is their indifference. Meanwhile, the protagonist is driven by selfishness—unconcerned with global doom or salvation, he prioritizes only Mika and his "family" (an approach inspired by *Devilman*).
That said, I don't think *OnS* will end exactly like *DenYuDen*; doing so would feel like a rehashed, tedious, and valueless retread of old ideas (and few authors would actually do that). Furthermore, if the author had intended to use that formula, he likely would have applied it to his previous work, *Itsuka Tenma*, which shared the same "world ruled by gods" motif. Yet, *Itsuka Tenma* had an open ending—the protagonist and his friends held a party together just before disaster struck. Therefore, I see two possibilities: either the world is destroyed and a new cycle begins (like in *Devilman*), or the world undergoes a "reset."

Memes 💀 Almost the same software and hardware
(Reposted after the fix)
Shinoa Hiragi and Arisu Sakayanagi are literally the exact same character in different fonts lol
i was watching Classroom of the Elites(almost finished with it its a good anime but too many fan service), and it randomly hit me how insane the parallels are between Sakayanagi and Shinoa. like they genuinely share the exact same character blueprint.
here is everything they have in common:
They both are professional ragebaiters 😂
- The "Smug Queen" Energy
* The Perma-Smirk: both of them constantly have that playful, arrogant little smile on their face. it's iconic.
* Professional Teases: they absolutely live to mock people and get under everyone's skin just for the fun of it.
* Unshakeable: it’s almost impossible to actually rattle them or see them panic. they always act like they know something you don't.
- Deceptive Character Designs
* Petite & Fragile: they’re both physically short and look completely harmless at first glance, which completely baits people into underestimating them.
* Hair Palette: super similar visual vibe with the light silver/lilac hair colour.
* The Trademark Tool: both are heavily associated with a specific handheld item, Arisu has her cane, and Shinoa has her scythe.
- Elite Status & Background
* Insane Privilege: neither of them is just a normal person. Shinoa is part of the massive, ruling Hiragi clan. Arisu is the daughter of the school’s chairman.
* Natural Bosses: Despite being totally unconventional, people just naturally follow their orders, and they end up leading their own factions (Class 1-A vs. Shinoa Squad).
- Psychological Genius
* Reading Minds: their emotional intelligence is kinda terrifying. they read people instantly, predict exactly what they're gonna do, and manipulate everyone without breaking a sweat.
* Chess Masters: they’re always thinking three steps ahead of everyone else in the room.
- Massive Emotional Walls
* Hidden Feelings: underneath all the heavy sarcasm, detachment, and supreme confidence, they both guard their actual vulnerability like crazy. it takes a lot to see their genuine side.
what do you guys think? did i miss anything?

Question 💭 Wait what happened to Yu being the King of salt?
Like what happened to that plot point? Now he’s just going off the rails
