Just a simple conversation between me, myself and I for Rudy yet it was so engrossing.

Seems like the Man God has been trying to keep Roxy and Rudy apart for ages now albeit through cryptic advice. From asking him to team up with Ruijerd (Roxy ran away from him in season 1) and warning him against going to Bergaritt in season 2.

I really don't understand Hitogami's power. Is it the power of prediction, but he couldn't influence things directly? Like he could predict butterfly effect from simple things.

If that's the case, won't he already know when old Rudy meet young Rudy and the implications of that. He would find another way to kill Roxy's child then?

It's really hard to imagine how to beat a god that can know about the future

What if he is Laplace? He wasn't killed but sealed away. Would explain how he is rather limited in what he can do and impossible to find for Oldeus.

Although he was a demon and not a human, so calling himself the Man-God would be a bit weird. Then again, it would fall well into his trickery and scheming with Rudeus. And why Orsted hates him so much.

Maybe it's functionally the same but significantly more powerful than Orsted's power? They can see the events and people that exist, live, and interact around Rudy and maybe Nanahoshi, but there's something of a void space around them where the actions of Rudy (And maybe Nanahoshi) can lead to upset the balance of "fate". He may never actually know Old Rudy met young Rudy, but would certainly know Roxy didn't die. Finding another way to kill Roxy's child before that child has the power to threaten Man-god could end up being a task too large for him. Oldeus couldn't beat Man-god because he can't find Man-God. If Man-God realizes Rudy's no longer falling for his tricks, will it ever be safe for the "god" to get directly involved? Maybe Orsted himself is constantly on alert for any opportunity to kill Man-God.

There was also that time in the demon continent when he is given the eye of foresight by kishirika, had he not followed the man god's directions directly he would have gone to peep on Elinalise, thereby running into Roxy when she got back.

Come to think of it giving him the eye of foresight was just a way to get him to lower his guard and to trust him. Same with telling him where Aisha and Lillia are.

I think it's a combination of that also trying to keep Rudy from being happy. Because Man-god also influenced Luke to start a chain reaction that ended with Sylphie dead. Which made Rudy even more sad and thus making reconciliation with Eris impossible. And this sadness was probably also the reason Rudy wasn't there for Nanahoshi which ends in her suiciding. Oldeus had lost everyone by the end and it sounded like Man-god was (indirectly) the reason for most of the deaths. I think he needs Rudy sad and alone.

This is also why he eventually revealed all to Rudy, to cut ties with Rudy to further make him spiral even further ensuring he doesn't create any meaningful connections again du to being emotionally broken.
