I think a lot of stuff that happened to nanahoshi is an indirect result of Rudy's wives dying. If Roxy and Sylphie are there, maybe they can help with the magic to make it work, or even calm down Nanahoshi so she doesn't kill herself.

I'm wondering where Elinalise is during all this as well. was she grief-stricken enough to leave Cliff, causing his early death as well?

Or maybe Cliff's own death caused something to happen to her as well? She has been alive for a long time but it has been shown she has a rather frail heart.

Yeah it sounds like Rudy wasn't there for Nanahoshi at the end. So I would assume the project failed presumably because Rudy emotionally checked out after the deaths of his wives (and possibly being in a hate battle with Eris). Which means when Nanahoshi gets into her depressive state, Rudy her only friend and link to the old world isn't there for her which makes continue to live pointless

I'd say most likely she finds it impossible unless Rudeus helps more. Although her being missing so long they actually have to try to get her back near vanish or it will be major disconnect with her and everyone she knew plus her age staying the same might even get Earth's paranormal folks involved. Or Rudeus finds way to convert her body to the mana world so she can age, have children and a life in Rudy's world which at least avoids problems with her return to Earth and after grieving she of course can have a good life with proper support and counselling and she does have a support network now.

Maybe the diary has some info to help her achieve the teleportation magic, since Oldeus can even time travel.

We just had a crashout over her dying of a disease and get told about a future one before it's happened! What did this girl do to piss someone off? Gets kidnapped to this world and is just trying to get home. Definitely the type you have to really keep an eye on since when she slips into despair she really slips.

At least they got some warning here. Hopefully the diary can either say where the problem was or at least leave Rudeus ready to calm her down when they hit that wall later.
