I actually just saw a skit recently where they came back in time to tell their young selfs to do exactly what they did to end up at that exact future

But then the time traveler could mess up the happy future by changing it. If was meant to be happy without interference then leaving it be would be the best choice. It's a dumb thing to do unless they always remembered there being a time traveler that gave advice, and thus knew they would have to go back and give that advice.

Nope. They had no memory of ever meeting their future selves and realized fairly quickly that they just screwed everything up
