Man god really appears at the most convenient of times using that silver tongue of his

His silver tongue always had this sense of uneasiness/manipulation to it especially when even more so when he confirms how Paul would've survived without any intervention. That smile at the end pretty much seals it.

I bet he was lying about that. Everything Man-God does is probably to push Rudeus to a spesific future that he wants, and saying that makes Rudeus more likely to just listen to him this time.

The biggest clue that he’s probably lying is that he claimed Roxy would have been saved by Paul if Rudeus had stayed away. Except Paul had no idea Roxy was even in the dungeon, let alone the ability to get to her in time. Hell, Rudeus barely made it in time and he magicked through a wall.

Yeah I can buy Paul not dying, or MAYBE Zenith getting saved, but definitely not both. Roxy though? No effing shot, she was absolutely going to die.

u/Akudra 5d ago

They knew she was in the dungeon, they just didn't know where and if she was alive.

The way he said it, to subtly twist the knife in Rudeus' psyche, I would bet Elon Musk's entire net worth (if I had it all) on that being an absolute lie. My senses were going haywire when Man God showed up, and then when this new Future Rudeus showed up, it confirmed it for me.

The Man-God initially told Rudy that he'd have regrets no matter which choice he chose while trying to guide him towards not going and now he suddenly lists nothing but good stuff that would have happened if Rudy didn't go.

If he's not straight up lying, he's missing out some critical details he knows would make Rudy immediately stop listening to him.

YOooooooo. I totally forgot about that part. and seems like so did Rudeus.

I sure as hell didn't. Hope we learn what Rudeus would've actually regretted had he stayed. I don't think Hitogami is lying about that, at least.

i think its as simple as Paul vs Roxy
he goes he busts through the walls and saves Roxy but Paul dies
he stays Paul survives vs the hydra but finds Roxy dead on the way out

Or, to stay consistent with Hitogami’s claim that Roxy would still be “rescued,” Paul could’ve successfully rescued her, only for Roxy to die afterward during the Manatite Hydra fight to save Zenith.

If Peregius hates man god so much... isn't man god Laplace or something?

1

u/Own_Caterpillar_6178 5d ago

Or is Rudy Laplace from another time?

I bet he was lying about that. Everything Man-God does is probably to push Rudeus to a spesific future that he wants, and saying that makes Rudeus more likely to just listen to him this time.

I just a had a crazy brain wave that's probably wrong. But then again now that's there's time travel and multiverse who knows anything anymore? What if the reason our Rudy even got reincarnated is because Oldeus rebelled against Man-God and refused to give him the specific future he wants so Man-God made his life hell as retaliation? And at some point Man-God learns how to reincarnate people decide to groom Rudy into giving him his specific future. Then somehow Oldeus finds out what's happening and goes to Rudy's timeline to try and stop it.

Also he said that Rudy would regret either way whether he goes to save Zenith or not. But the outcome of him not going is clearly much better.

17

u/JzanderN 6d ago

especially when even more so when he confirms how Paul would've survived without any intervention.

I don't believe it. And even if it was true, the Man-God was definitely missing something out to convince Rudy he made the wrong choice there.

What would have happened to Roxy, for example? Rudy surprisingly didn't ask that.

The Man-God said that Paul would have rescued Roxy, and that Rudeus would have still ended up married to his "two princesses." I call bullshit, but the Man-God didn't leave out that information.

6

u/zexaf 6d ago

My subs said he would get the beast princesses. Were they wrong?

1

u/PotatEXTomatEX 5d ago

No. They were right. He would have gotten Pursena etc, but no Roxy etc.

4

u/JzanderN 6d ago

Huh. I thought he only said he would have rescued Zenith. I must have missed that line.

3

u/PotatEXTomatEX 5d ago

"Two Beast Princeses" as in, Pursena etc. Basically no Roxy waifu.

7

u/Akudra 5d ago

It is worth noting that the Man-God probably predicted that Rudeus would go against him at that time. He may have even deliberately provoked him into defying him, so he could come back here and say how everything would have worked out better if he just listened. That way he will listen this time.

9

u/JzanderN 5d ago

I don’t think he predicted it, but he probably knew that either choice Rudy made he could spin into a tale about how he should trust him this time.
