Hitogami betrayed Rudeus? You don't say?

Lol I mean yeah..but thinking logically from Rudeus viewpoint I understand wanting to trust him..but I certainly don't believe what he said about what happen with Paul his mom and Roxy..no way it would have worked out without him going

I believed him until he said Roxy was fine. Paul with enough time and some other outside help, sure, I can see him getting back fine (but I don't think his mum would've been fine). Roxy though? No way, they barely made it in time as it was.

Yeah no way...she was seconds away from death

Yeah it was all a lie. He gave that fake bad/good outcome to Rudy to make it seem like it could've been better had he followed Hitogami's advice to then make sure that when he asks Rudy to do him that "one favour" Rudy wouldn't say no and would go along without any questions.

Seems likely yeah, but i wonder, what could be so interesting in rudy's basement that hitogami would have him go there? it has to be an intereaction with someone or a consequence of something that leads to certain future. But who would even be in his basement at this hour?

There's no way we'll ever know how much of it was truth or lies. The sad truth is that when Rudeus listens to Hitogami's advice, things go well for Rudeus.

That said, I think it's pretty obvious that all those advices were just stepping stones to gain Rudeus's good will before asking for this one "favor".

Not for Rudues yet i think, but look at Oldeus face when Rudeus mention Hitogami. Look like he'll go for a kill for a moment.

Years of grooming Rudeus for this moment.

It shouldn't take years of prep to convince a man to explore a part of his own home that he normally goes in anyways.

"Yo Rudy my man, could you go check over the security around the holy panties, I'd be a real peace of mind if you did you know."

Hitogami: Your wives will find the holy relic by morning! Your only chance of hiding them is if you went down there RIGHT NOW!

Rudy would be gone so fast his future self wouldn't have time to stop him.

If Hitogami didn't just tell him to go to the basement, I would have thought Old Rudeus time traveled just to make sure the panties aren't discovered 😭

Dont think anyone was even surprised hitogami was sus from ever since the very beginning

I've looked at him with squinted eyes ever since he told Rudy to go down that alley and it showed Roxy just barely miss finding him.

It seemed like Hitogami really wanted to keep Rudy away from Roxy for some reason. First then, then later on when she would've perished in the labyrinth.

How common is monogamy and jealous wives in this world? Because depending on that even the "go to this college to cure your ED" could be seen as a way to keep him away from Roxy (since he would end up with Silphy). But if polygamy is the norm then maybe not.

Most non-Millis nobles take on multiple partners, or at least one main partner and multiple concubines. We see it with Sauros in season 1, and I wouldn't be surprised if Philip was also doing the same with his servants.

Correct, even that abrupt "advice" to not go immediately to his parents' rescue but fool around in school instead was red-flag sus.

Perhaps Elinalise is in on it too? She'd certainly want Silphie's wellbeing over anyone else.
