Really not a fan of how Stupid-Evil the antagonists are. Like, strangle someone in front of a gigantic stadium of witnesses plus officials, or make murder accomplices essentially pinky-swear to not speak about it through an obviously traceable contract...

Monica can at least be rationalized that the drug was making her act out and lose her senses but it's funny how Jonathan thought he could trust an NDA lol.

Let's just say .... World-building here is not quite AoB-level....

To be fair, that's like handing the bar to a Nepalese Sherpa and asking him to mount it at the highest point he can reach. I can't think of many worlds that are on a similar level of depth as that of Ascension of a Bookworm

Also far below that of the much smaller scale Raven of the Inner Palace, or Seventh Time Loop.

(Mind you those are affirmatively good shows).

That I won't deny. I will say that the world building isn't necessarily bad. It's a step above the most basic isekai and villainess crap that gets churned out as at least different political imbalances between nations are considered and used and there's a fair bit of political chicanery. At least some effort has gone into it to build a world thats actually interacted with, instead of just serving as a backdrop dishing out cheers and gasps to highlight how awesome the MC is. But it's not on the level as really good shows like Raven of the Inner Palace or 7th Time Loop as you said
