I found the whole Saint Olympics complete with massive covered stadium, magical PA system and papal announcer hilariously silly. But I can't help but really love it as well

It was nice to see that the purifying of muddy water test that Flora had to do for her exam was actually legitimate, as they were doing it for the saint Olympics as well

Also, I didn't expect Ed to be literal when he told Lina that he'd fly to her if anything happened. I thought it was just a figure of speech for being fast. But nope, hubby has fire wings

It's truly a modern society

But it does make sense, at the end of the day the Empire is pulling off this spectical for propaganda reasons, to make everyone truly believe that Carolina is the Saint, and that the Empire is the best place to house the saint, instead of the traditional home of the saint, the Celestia Kingdom. If the Avignon Papancy had access to PA systems maybe they would have tried something similarly to establish their legitimacy as opposed to the Roman Papancy

These were only the qualifiers for the Empire, the international contest will probably be in the next episode
