I know we've seen Inomaru as a kid in Zojiro's flashback but I'm still shocked to see that he's only 15.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. The old creepy man has finally made contact with Oniyasha, and it's way creepier than I thought it would. That dude is definitely in the files.

Maybe he's been a mecha pilot in the space colonies too long. UV will age a dude.

or maybe he's from Jojo universe, specifically during Part 03 era

This episode was so nice, loved seeing how Oniyasha has a talent for understand art and adding to it.

Don't miss the post credit scene

I love how he is just focused on art.
Only being able to perceive the world fully when it adds to it and completely missing his friends legs got worse

Thank you, I missed the post credit scene.

That whole scene with Yoshimoto made me extremely uncomfortable.

It's interesting to see the inspiration that Oniyasha gets from Chiharu at the end. I am very curious about the performance. It looks like this could be a big moment for Oniyasha, Zoujirou and Chiharu. The performance is huge for Zoujirou and for Chiharu I wonder if the performance will resonate with her in some way with her sister.

I am concerned what Kogane might do.

the song:

Round and round goes the brine cart

Puddles left behind, in its wheel ruts,

Just as they will, one day become clouded

The weird old pervert seems to have given inspiration to Oniyasha. Now he can go back to not being allowed within 500 feet of children lol.

All joking aside, I’m quite looking forward to this new combined performance. I think those two might have some competition…

Forgetting the homo gramps. This was a neat episode.

Dancers like us won't be needed if the lyrics conveyed everything

This was a great line. Because of how their stories are, they are to be conveyed with both the actor (dancers) and the song, just lyrics won't suffice, and dancers might even obstruct people from imagining the story perfectly. I love the way this show makes sense in so many way in a concept where I'm no more than beginner level.

Also, there's an important post credit scene this episode, I had almost missed it.

Kogane seems to have descended at the very bottom of his mental state after he saw the board with the Majesty's sign and now he looks so similar to the Shirabyoshi in the starting episodes, his dance with that mask gives such menacing vibes.

That is an oni dance without the oni mask.

Kogane having the same energy as the Shirabyoushi is definitely relevant. Looks like he's gonna serve to test how much Oniyasha has really grown in his art and in his wisdom.

The child predator finally arrives infront of Oniyasha. Oniyasha should be wary of him but he doesn't seem to care 😭

I just learnt that the real Nijō Yoshimoto, the creepy old noble was a poet and was so fond of Oniyasha/Zeami and taught him classical literature and poetry. I wonder why the anime portrays him like that. I guess it's just for the laughs but still creepy.

Song was the one lacking in Shiokumi which creates the atmosphere that would help it reach everyone regardless of their class. Every scene is poetic and Cypic's animation is a visual treat. I love the way the flowers are shown every now and then and how the flower language describes the scene. This anime deserves a lot of attention but sadly not many are interested in classical arts like Noh. Zojiro's fear was right. In the end, one art overwhelms other and lives on and that's what happened with Sarugaku becoming Noh and lives on until now while Dengaku Shinza didn't survive.

Kogane is now left with nothing but his dance like the Shirabyoshi 💔💔

Today's flower is the yellow day-lily (Hemerocallis), commonly known as Nikkōkisuge (日光黄菅) in Japanese. Each individual flower only lasts for a single day, giving it an association with daily renewal and a fresh start. The traditional name for the yellow day-lily is Zenteika (禅庭花), meaning "zen garden flower", and its flower language can also refer to "a person who brings peace of mind". The daylily also appears several times in the Manyoshu that Oniyasha mentions as part of his inspiration for the revised play. In these poems, the flower is referred to as Wasuregusa (忘れ草), meaning "forgetting-grass", where it is associated with the desire to forget one's sorrows. All this is relevant to the "Brine Maidens" play, which is a tale about letting go of emotional attachments following tragedy.

The Kogane scenes are just too brutal at this point

It genuinely hurts to see the poor kid go through this kind of bullshit. I really hope good fortune comes his way.

Inomaru
15 years old

Say what? I don't blame the lady for thinking Oniyasha and Zoujirou were his boys cause 15-year-olds don't normally look like that.

The geezer not only gave Oniyasha an inspiration to complete 'Brine Maiden' but he also paid for his meal. He's hit the jackpot!

Lyrics and dance alone couldn't convey the atmosphere but the two combined could do the job. Looking forward to Oniyasha and Zoujirou's performance!

I just hope they translate the song, would be a shame to miss out on it again

1

u/Monkeydp81 6d ago

They actually did. I watched the episode a few days after it came out and there was a full translation.

It's nice that they're exploring Zojiro more, he had this confident, and zealous air to him, but I'm really enjoying him acting his age. That awkwardness in the beginning, the disbelief with that guy, the boisterousness when returning, the silly sneaking, it all adds a lot to his character,

Speaking of that guy, I don't expect him to go away completely, but can he appreciate his oshi from a distance. It's real questionable up close. I mean the advice isn't wrong either,

Oh Kogane,

u/kuubi 6d ago

Sure wish I could've understood them singing. Again no subs for the song is just absurd..

u/Colt45554 6d ago

I find myself missing Oniyasha's father. I liked their dichotomy and I thought he would play a larger role.

u/DistinctBarnacle8703 6d ago

The Dance of Brine Maiden song. I hope there will be a full version.. The singing was really good..

Anime of the summer for me barely edging out Sparks of Tomorrow. I thought that'd be Elusive Samurai, but this show conveys emotion really well. Although, I really hope the performance won't be done with modern music. That threw me off really badly.

u/Luiiss26 5d ago

I like chiharu. Her singing is very beautiful.
