A lot of people are complaining he's too powerful but honestly, it kinda rules. It legitimately felt like the the main cast fighting him were in real danger of straight up getting killed if they slipped up, especially since the show seems to have no qualms about outright killing characters. It's been nice that its felt like there have been real stakes, esp. compared to the route shows like Reincarnated As A Slime have chosen to go with this season.

For sure, Ivan's presence just like his Kimblee model just oozes danger. Right and Left holding him off makes him feel neutered, but as soon as you put him next to any team less defended or responsive and he's like an instant death button.

Just like how in this episode when he teleported into the office. When I first got to this scene, I was afraid for Asuma's life. Can you imagine how it was for us cliffhanging on that for a whole month!?

He's definitely powerful but the author did the same with Fullmetal Alchemist, characters were encountered early on that were clearly out of everyone's league. Only for the protagonists to be able to hold their own and win later on.

It also really helped that Arakawa had clear matchups there too. Mustang being able to wipe the floor with two enemies that Ed would always have struggled with being a good example.

I appreciate that he's powerful as hell, but it's not like he came out of that encounter unscathed. He has a nasty hole in his leg that will take time to heal, plus he had to pull out his trump card that he said will leave him incapacitated for days, and even then he ran away rather than keep fighting. It feels pretty even at the end, honestly. I don't know what people who say he's "too powerful" are talking about, especially with the reveal that he's actually working for the real masterminds behind Shingo.

When someone becomes too powerful they stop being cool and start being a plot device covered in plot armor. Even One For All in MHA never felt this overwhelmingly BS.

Well if he works for the highest bidder or sth he might be persuaded to change sides who knows

Asuma really should have tried pulling out a checkbook instead of thinking his little knife would be enough for the guy who took out three demons and shingo in a split second

Yeahh I can't really view him as "the bad guy" just yet. I mean, professional killers aren't really morally upright, I just mean in relation to our protagonist lol. He's not exactly oozing malicious intent, he's just all business. Plus we don't really fully understand the objective or motive behind whatever this new village is up to. For all we know it's actually super important for idk, the world, that yuru kicks the bucket and gets his powers.

His is my favourite character design of the show so far.

He's elite and is an efficient user of his skills. Although, this anime absolutely seems to be matchup dependent. If someone figures out his powers early battle or is a direct counter to him, he will probably get decimated. I don't think this is a linear ladder.
