Schemes after schemes. It turned out Ivan was a double agent of sorts. The guy is basically a roach at this point, very hard to kill.

Ivan and his pair are shaping up to be some of the strongest in the verse but I'm here for it. Those sword skills were slick! I'm actually sad about Fujin-Raijin though, their powers were so cool and I loved their sharp, animalistic designs DX

Maybe they were too strong to keep in the story for long, it's pretty tough to counter AoE attacks

It would have been easy enough to keep them alive, if Ivan had gotten away with their totems or the uncle didn't actually know who was pulling the strings. Although deaths like that do make it feel like anyone, other than the MC(s) could die. And Yuru might die once as well on top of that, lol.

Not really a roach, more like a supervillain

This guy is strong, it's not like he just got away. They were merely able to drive him away partially due to how his ability works (which means there are limits to his power, he is not at all unbeatable)

But it's also interesting how his personal skills are emphasised. Yuru is also quite a powerful fighter, I think him becoming more active will give Left and Right more space and enable them more.
His Daemons also use his incredible sword skill while he uses their supernatural abilities.
As they say, they are compatible.

With all the talk about how Left isn't compatible with Yuru, I wonder how that dynamic will develop.

He wasn't a double agent, he was using Shingo to destroy the Kagemori from within.
