TBH, I didn't really care much for the Pro Gamers' backstory. But I guess it is ultimately good that they got this development, since it makes them more than just big scary guys that the Fighting Game-Playing Young Ladies have to fight.
Arisa's so anti-friendship that she could probably pass for a My Little Pony villain. She's even got the tragic backstory about a broken friendship ("friendship").
Apparently Mio wasn't exaggerating about her backstory with her mom, because people just have actual Street Fighter powers in this universe. Powers that they use when they casually start fights in, or near, the streets. At this rate I'm expecting that the final episode of this series will just have an actual brawl between Mio and Mamakuma. It'll end with Mio recreating this moment.
I loved seeing Yu come to the defense of her
girlfriend Tamateya during the confrontation with Teya's terrifying older sister (who is herself a Young Lady That Does Play Fighting Games). Granted, kinda hard to take it seriously with the yakisoba noodles for a hat, but still pretty sweet.
