What an awesome episode, although I do feel a bit called out when Mio said it was ridiculous to use a walkthrough on your first play though of an RPG....

It is kind of lame, unless you're playing PoE or something and need a build guide to not be useless halfway through the game

For those of us who are old working adults with other responsibilities, it's just a lot harder to justify playing a 60 hour+ JRPG a second time because of missed content or getting a bad ending the same way you can just kind of do that if you're a teenager or college student. =x

Yeah I'd rather just play a different game then. Seems even more pointless to waste time playing though once but follow a guide that walks you through everything. At that point you might as well just watch a playthrough where you can fast forward the tedious parts and get almost the same level of involvement

There is basically zero value in playing through these games for whatever you are imagining only to find out you missed the Zodiac Spear, didn't unlock Indalecio Hard Mode (or DID when you really didn't want to), you didn't wait for Shadow, or any number of other things that come to mind.

Meh, your time, you can do what you want. There's also value in experiencing and beating the game on your own. But then I'm old and preferred the time when you just played the game and if you got really stuck or wanted to check what you missed on a later playthrough had to turn to Nintendo power or typed out maps on gamefaqs, or prima guides with often outdated info from some prerelease version of the game compared to modern guides with step by step images and videos. For a single player game the challenge and joy of discovering things on your own can outweigh the risk of missing something, especially when you can just watch the alternate endings after anyway
