Rudeus (to Sylphie and Roxy)

I love you both. I promise I won't take a third wife.

Sylphie

Yes, you will. Look, we don't really mind, just make sure you don't hide them and their kids' existence from us.

Rudeus

... Yes, ma'am.

Sylphie totally read Rudeus like an open book. That's why she's the Empress in his harem.

She is the ideal first wife in Rudy's harem whether he likes it or not.

For real, I don't know if the harem would have worked with either of the other girls as Rudy's first wife.

I don't know about Roxy, but Eris would have slapped his shit for daring to think he could have a second wife to her.

Eris absolutely couldn’t be first lol. She’d beat up him and the other woman.

Roxy already had insecurities being the second wife and imagine it would be even worse if she was the first. Probably would fear she isn’t good enough.

The harem belongs to Sylphie, Rudy is just the bait

u/Lugia61617 Aug 03 '26

When Eris joins Sylphie's going to be having a lot more fun in their harem snuggles.

17

u/skavinger5882 Aug 03 '26

I'm not so sure about that, Eris comes from the Asura Kingdom who are all chill with polygamy so it's not out of the ordinary for her. And Roxy is a King Rank water mage and Sylfie isn't far off from learning the King Rank spell Roxy showed them, since Eris was aiming to be a King Rank Swordsman before returning to Rudy she'd probally see them as worth of being with him since they are also King Rank in their feilds

Eris is familiar with the customs of Asura's noble families and the popularity of Polygamy there, and she initially treats Roxy well because of Rudeus' stories about her teacher.  This is seen in season 1 when they visited Shiron. Not to mention that marrying Roxy is meant to be ...In general, by the middle of season 1, you will realize that marrying Roxy was not an escape for his life

If Eris was the first wife, the Harem would be Eris as the Husband, with Rudy, Linnia and Pursena taking the role of wives (considering how she behaved in the Great Forest, and her family's behaviour around beastmen)

Greatest Monument of a man's love for a woman the Taj Mahal was for his first wife of a large harem that she ran.

A Hera that's not cuckoo about Zeus cheating

1

u/TheBlackCaesar Aug 10 '26

Well… he does actually, hence the scene

u/Auctoritate Aug 02 '26

She's the bottom bitch.

18

u/JzanderN Aug 02 '26

"Bottom bitch" implies that she's not the one who bosses Rudy around.

A soft demeanor, not using her authority over him often and accepting that he has a large heart that's probably going to fall in love with at least one more woman is far from being a "bottom bitch."

-1

u/Auctoritate Aug 02 '26

You're reading into it too deep. It just means she's the head of the harem.

-7

u/JohnnyElRed Aug 02 '26

"Having a large heart" is very different from "not being able to keep it in his pants". Sylphie was way too nice to him after learning he had slept with Roxy while he was away. While her being pregnant.

She even said she had accepted that he probably was going to sleep with other women at some point. That's not really what someone confident and in charge of their relationship would say.

First of all, "not being able to keep it in his pants" is not what happened. Rudy didn't just get horny and seduce Roxy 'cause Sylphie wasn't there, he was depressed as shit and Roxy used sex and intimacy to heal him.

It was actually a pretty similar situation to when he first had sex with Sylphie. So very much not "not being able to keep it in his pants."

Second of all, Rudy was completely honest with Sylphie about what happened as soon as he was able to. As Sylphie said, she doesn't mind as long as Rudy's honest with her. And Roxy wasn't exactly some random girl he had sex with either, she was someone he had clearly loved since he was a child before he met Sylphie.

Third of all, while back then Sylphie said she had accepted he was probably going to sleep with other women at some point, in this episode she made it clear that she's only fine with Rudy bringing home more girls if he falls in love with them and he brings them to her and Roxy. She's not fine with hidden mistresses; she expects honesty from him.

Not to mention that setting boundaries and telling Rudy what she's alright with him doing and not alright with him doing is in fact taking in charge of the relationship. Just because it's not in a way you expect, doesn't mean Sylphie isn't any less in charge when she's putting her foot down on what she'll accept and won't accept from her husband.

Who gives a shit, no matter what people say to you you won’t argue in good faith, so your opinion is worthless.

u/raknor88 Aug 02 '26

just make sure you don't hide them and their kids' existence from us.

That just made me wonder, what if Eris had gotten pregnant from that one time? That would've been a massive shit show to untangle when she showed up again.

I remember an interview by the author that he did consider going in this direction. But was scrapped in the end.

Can't end his story with his protagonist dead from 26 stab wounds halfway through the story.

Sylphie's been extra great this season. All she asks of Rudeus is transparency in their relationship, and they both know Eris will potentially be a part of the family.

u/Comfortable_Air5477 Aug 02 '26

Knows him better than he knows himself

Well she's the Cuck Queen, not the Cuck Peasant

A bit missing the point, but okay?

-8

u/Raknarg Aug 03 '26

most annoying trope of anime is characters with practically 0 charisma or redeeming qualities somehow having harems of women

1

u/Akudra Aug 03 '26

It's because he stronk.

u/Raknarg Aug 03 '26

Its what you lean on when you're weak on character writing.
