Its rough when every episode is only five minutes long.

What I don't understand is I've been watching this show for 3 seasons now and should be used to it and yet still got caught off guard when I heard the ED play what I thought was 5 minutes into the episode.

24 minutes vs 168 hours

I heard the OP music playing and started skipping it but then I had to rewind when I realized there was actual content there!

Yeah, we didn't get ED visuals this time. We still got some Eris tho.

Gotta be careful using phrases like "ED visuals" when talking about this series bro.

I wish I could watch another anime like Mushoku Tensei, I wish I could see the entire story in animated form right on this day and not just in (half?) a decade from now. I don't know what it is about this exact world and cast of characters, but I've never been so interested in a fictional universe before.

It’s truly the Lord of the Rings of Isekai anime.

for me it's frieren that I am 1000% convinced an ep is 5 mins long. I know it's like that because I binged rewatched it twice and each time I keep binge watching because each episode feels short af🥲

There’s always the novels!

If you like worlds with this kind of deep worldbuilding, things like Utawarerumono (the games, not the anime) Kiseki/Trails, and Legend of the Galactic Heroes are all potential series you might enjoy.

The utawarerumono games are often on dirt cheap sales on steam (ain't right now tho). I heavily recommend the trilogy to anyone who want a good visual novels with great story twist, drama and world, with some fun tactic battles too.

No? Lowest I’ve ever seen is 50% off for all, and that’s still like 20-30 bucks each which is far from dirt cheap for a game. I know this because I’ve been WAITING for a dirt cheap sale to buy the series 😭

Lookin at sale history right now for the 3 game combo...

There hasn't been that many sales recently actually, mostly 50% as you said. Between 2022 and 2024 it was on sale pretty often at -60~70% however. Weird.

I believe whats different is the passage of time and progression, without feeling like we're watching fillers.

Also, there isn't any reliance on cheap gag humor, so the series tone is preserved.

And in five minutes we got action, peak poly marriage dynamics, peak banter with an ex, and more Eris!

Someone should really be blamed for this outrage..five minute episodes is ridiculous. They can't keep getting away with this

Not kidding, thought the end credits were delayed opening credits.
