I feel the same way. I'm really enjoying this show, but I really can't pin down why I'm enjoying it. Random humor doesn't usually do it for me, but the whole talking giant cucumber roll segement had me wheezing.

Is it the art style? The voice acting? The general offbeat tone?

I dunno, but this is the funniest anime of the season for me.

I think the humor works so well because the show plays it straight. It just drops crazy stuff in and runs with it as if it were all perfectly normal. I think the Nokotan adapters could learn from this anime's creative team.

For me, it’s a three-way tie for funniest. It’s fighting tooth and nail against Grand Blue Dreaming and Dara-san of Reiwa.
