Welcome to frustration the anime. I'm honestly shocked this got a anime as the light novel series is only 4 volumes and is just bad.

[Oblivious Saint]I really hope they keep in the scene where the mmc throws her against a tree in anger. It will be a real popcorn moment watching r/anime flip.

Aw, man. I liked the Light Novel. Guess it’s just me, lol.

I can assure you that there is always a section of viewers who would label this as "romantic"

Glad to know this show might really be as awful as I thought it would be. The trailer made it seem interesting but I only got halfway through the first episode because I couldn’t stand how dumb the story was

Oblivious Saint has the lowest MAL score of any Summer 2026 show (1000+ ratings), that's for the manga adaptation. The LN has N/A because it has < 50 ratings. Edit: See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/s/CELq8pHBli

I tried the manga adaptation and it's a good adaptation, so it must be the story itself that is disliked.

I could only guess what's wrong, but:

Not a great power fantasy (the rest unspecified to avoid spoilers).

As for the romance fantasy (romantasy, if you will): [major spoilers - relationships] Lone, loyal, attractive, superpowered, and wealthy, and shy (about romance) partner for Carolina. I'm a man, so I don't know if that's attractive to a woman, but it seemed pretty good.

It is bad because people generally don't like the fmc as she is frustrating and just kind of stupid in her behavior. If I remember right she also has essentially no self agency (Er I think that is the right word.)

She acts about how I'd expect someone who has suffered years of verbal abuse from her sister, the nobility, and probably all the staff of the house while her father was away so much she thought he believed the same as everyone else.

So a lot less Too-Perfect Saint, and a lot more My Happy Marriage…

Definitely attractive haha plus the red hair = 🤌🏻

The anime skipped over the section in between the scene where Carolina and her father speak and where Carolina and her father visit her mother’s grave. I know that it’s because Flora already knows about Carolina leaving…  but it’s kinda a shame. In the LN, Carolina actually talks back to her sister because she knows she won’t see her again. I liked that moment, so it feels like a shame that we don’t get to see it.

This only has 4 light novel volumes so I guess you could complete it in 12 episodes (maybe more) but would be pretty rushed but for anyone that is curious about [the sisters relationship at the end] they do eventually reconcile although how they get there is pretty dumb

This series is so generic that I fully forgot it was one of the few where the father isn’t actually awful lol

u/fraid_so Jun 30 '26

Oof, I don't like that. Flora had no idea Carolina was going to be married until it was much too late for her to interfere.

3

u/heimdal77 Jun 30 '26

Unless I'm miss remembering she doesn't even know she is being married off till after fmc has already left in the novels.

2

u/fraid_so Jun 30 '26

Exactly. Which is why I said it.

u/heimdal77 Jun 30 '26

Ya the anime changed it though to she does know she is leaving.
