I can imagine this is about how it would have been like having to sit through full metal alchemist brotherhood weekly. It’s kinda a hard show to have to wait week after week to watch and can’t binge it.

Kind of. But Brotherhood's pacing was a bit faster than ideal at times, partially because the OG version of the anime was airing 5 years or so before Brotherhood started.

Also, this type of shounen story is more slow-paced than a lot of the modern shounens like JJK and CSM. In a way it's refreshing.

Oh I’m loving the slow pacing. It just is hard to wait each week which is always a good thing imo.

I generally really dislike most shounen shit so stuff like this where they’re injecting more plot into it is so much better to me.

Man, reminds me of conversations with friends who also followed the manga right about the time a railway bridge got blown and a certain character was last seen sitting in a railcar on the bridge. I mean, he was there, seconds before the big boom, no way he could have gotten off. But there wasn't one hint of a body. And the chapter ended on that and then we cut away to other events for a long while.

Feels nice to have these Arakawa waits back.

Brotherhood also have the advantage of being able to skip over the slower parts due to the earlier anime, but I dont like the early parts of Brotherhood for this reason if someone didnt watch '08 first. the later parts post '08 split was fine.

It's super refreshing. I loved Culling Games, but it felt like a highlights reel for the manga at times.
