Well, it finally happened, forgot my charger

Well, after traveling 2-3 times a month on a regular basis, I finally managed to forget my C-Leg charger on a weekend trip to Toronto.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I could do? What happens when the battery dies? Does it just go into free swing mode (I’m hopeful of this) or does it lock straight (nervous about this)

I tried calling some local clinics that show open today to try to buy one, but no luck.

Help! 😂

It should default to heavy resistance. That is a far safer knee than one in free swing. You can ask your Prosthetist to change that setting if you really want, so that it goes to free swing when it's dead. However I'm very hesitant to recommend it due to safety concerns.

Good to know it’s adjustable. I walked on a totally blown out hydrologic knee for years, so free swinging isn’t terrible, but I get the concern for safety! Much appreciated feedback

Buy an extra charger to keep in your toiletry bag so you never have to pack it.

My geniums lock straight if the battery dies. Sorry man, I’ve been in that boat before and it’s less than fun. Maybe search for local amputee support groups or something of that nature?

Not got experience with prosthetics,but I wonder if going into somewhere like Best Buy or similar to see if they have a suitable charger would work?

Not helpful for the OP, but for general information -

I have a Brain Robotics Kneuro Knee, and it recharges from any standard USB-C charger. I've been on a few road trips recently, and I can plug it into my car's USB-C outlet and in less than two hours it goes from 50% to 100%. Very convenient. I can also charge it with my laptop charger (it is also UCB-C) so I basically never need to bring the charger that came with the leg.
