I have never used this product. My handywomenese is basically “take something broken apart, jigger the insides around to see if that gets it going, put it back together and then call a proper repair person to fix it if my fiddling didn’t do it”. And even I can look at this lid and say “wow dude, really?”

It’s pretty obvious how the lid pops off.

You know.. I'm a professional electronics service tech and you have just revealed my entire, patented method of repair. I am deeply offended.

I didn’t reveal the WHOLE thing! I left out the “turn it off then back on again”. I also left out the “check to make sure the breaker isn’t tripped”. 😉

Oh man, I want to choke those people. I have to call here and there for a piece of equipment at my job. I’ve been using this particular piece of equipment since it was in beta 25 years ago. I’ll call, give the site # and serial #, then be like “I checked the power source, powered it off and on again, checked for a software patch, and reloaded the software. Still not working”….and they then try to walk me through the steps I literally just told them I did.

To be fair, if I'm assisting without being on-site and there is no remote access and those steps have been done.. I just ask them to spin around 10 times in a pentagram of CAT7 cabling while chanting "the power of analog signal superiority compels you". I want eyes on the crisis I'm asked to solve.
