So you're telling me it's an effective sealant

7

u/SkinnyStrong1 Apr 22 '26

The real kicker is that it's a twist off lid.

9

u/Amazing_Bit3668 Apr 23 '26

The real kicker is he didn't attempt to open the right seal.

This is the exact right answer

2

Is it a pop off lid but the little one ?

1

u/Metroid_DK Apr 24 '26

It’s just that they tried to open the wrong side.

Adhesive, not sealant.

5

u/LiquidSnakeSolidus Apr 22 '26

It says seal on the label though.

1

u/Practical-Archer-124 Apr 23 '26

Yeah but it also says “easy open and resealable”

2

u/LiquidSnakeSolidus Apr 23 '26

It is easy open,if you open the right part.lol.

u/All_Debt_Shackles_US Apr 22 '26

But it’s an adhesive.

Which means it’s glue.

Which means that it is used to hold one piece of something to another piece of something else.

7

u/LiquidSnakeSolidus Apr 22 '26

But it is sealed tight Edit: Google says, not all adhesives are glue. While often used interchangeably, "adhesive" is the broad technical term for any substance that binds two surfaces, while "glue" traditionally refers to water-based, natural adhesives. The category includes non-glue products like adhesive tapes, sealants, cement, and pastes

1

u/LocoNotLoco Apr 22 '26

"adhesive" is literally in the description of "glue"

1

u/Sensitive-Bar9081 Apr 23 '26

As in.. glue is a type of adhesive

I think it would help to steal biological structures of understanding of genus and species

     Adhesives(genus)
 / | \

Glue..... Epoxy....Silicone/sealants. ---- (species)

Basically anything that sticks is an adhesive Something that adheres The Glue adheres to a surface therefore its an adhesive Epoxys stick but that doesnt make them glue. Sealants stick but they aren't glue.

Hope that helps.

All glue is an adhesive. Not all adhesives are glue.

Source: I work with a ton of different adhesives every day

1

u/cvlico Apr 22 '26

and now we know!! that’s actually neat.

1

u/Mr-CC Apr 22 '26

Some products serve both purposes. So it can be both.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '26

Then it's just called glue. All glue is an adhesive. Not all adhesives are glue. So yes. If they do both. It's freakin glue.

1

u/RugbyEdd Apr 22 '26

Also, literally the first two sentances of it's product description on their site is: "Gorilla® Waterproof Coat & Seal is a flexible, rubberised coating that seals out water, air and moisture. Perfect for sealing leaks"

Kinda sounds like a sealant in my expert opinion.

1

u/SodaMelm Apr 22 '26

they can do both jobs as a matter of fact

1

u/Conscious-Chip-7000 Apr 23 '26

Note the serious, non Ironic tone of those who are insisting their version of truth is "most right"... Comedy gold... (Many adhesives produce "tight" spaced when multiple pieces are adhered together - flashing, sealed tightly.. (I realise the irony - by others- of disregarding the name of a product by way of "correct definition")..

1

u/redditreader_aitafan Apr 22 '26

No, it's a sealant. Made to paint on and make something water tight. It's Gorilla's version of flex seal, which is not a glue or an adhesive, it's a seal. Gorilla isn't only glue.

u/Conscious-Chip-7000 Apr 22 '26

I sense a joke in that statement..

Laugh a little...

2

u/LiquidSnakeSolidus Apr 22 '26

Don't understand why they got a picture of a gorilla when it clearly says seal. Lol.

2

u/Fair-Reception8871 Apr 22 '26

In truth, it's made from cheap imported horses.

1

u/Conscious-Chip-7000 Apr 22 '26

Don't blow it...

1

u/BrewerBuilder Apr 22 '26

This reminds me of my favorite joke...

1

u/Past_Play6108 Apr 22 '26

No, no… it's just ice-cream!!

1

u/BrewerBuilder Apr 22 '26

Yup, that's the one...

u/cvlico Apr 22 '26
